Part 2

Yura POV

I woke up from the pain in my severed left arm. It was covered in bandages and the bleeding has stopped. I looked around and everything was so dark. Only the moon was able to shine upon my vision. I felt the ground and it was dump with dead grass. I stretched my hand and found iron bars lining side by side. I am in a small jail. I stood up and found that it was just enough for me to straighten my back. I don’t know what happened to me after I was dragged but I know it was not good.

“You’re awake.” A voice echoed in the iron filled place.

“Who’s there?” I asked trying to make my voice calm down despite my fear.

“No one. Just an old elf trying to count the remaining days of his life.”

“Elf? You’re only myths”

The old man or elf laughed.

“We are not myths. We are living legends. You must be mistaken my dear.”

“In our world you are not real, just a make-up character of a children’s book for entertainment.”

“Then maybe it’s a different world my dear.”

He got a point. This place has 50% chances that it’s not earth at all. The last thing I know is that I was dragged inside a hole with Anub’arak. Those things are impossible to live in Earth. If they did, they could have been captured by the military or maybe they will become guinea pigs of the scientists.

“Old elf, if it’s not my world then, where am I?" I asked hoping to get an answer that it is still the earth. I would eventually lose hope if I’ll know that it’s not my homeland.

“This is the world of Gaia, the world known for it’s beautiful scenery and magic.”

Just as I thought, this is not the Earth. I’m losing hope here. Even though I have the spirit to go home, I don’t know how will I go home.

“Young girl, It seemed like you’re not from here. Where do you come from?”

“Yes, I am not from this world. The living skeletons kidnapped me. I came from the world of humans, Earth.” I answered.

I don’t know if I said something but he reacted in a way that I didn’t expect.

“Earth?! You mean the blue and green planet of the human race? Are you really from that world?”

“Y-Yes. I came from that planet.” I answered.

He didn’t answer me and he was silent. I don’t know what his doing because I could not see the place clearly.

“I can’t believe this. To us, humans are known as myths. They don’t exist in the real world at all. How could this happen?”

“I’m sorry to say but we are not myths at all. We’re real. We live in the Earth peacefully never thinking that a world of elves and dead skeletons actually exists.”

“The Undead race are known for it’s black magic and sorcery. I heard in some travelling elves that the Undead are planning to revive the Lich King and according to the scriptures, a virgin human girl is needed to fulfill it as a form of sacrifice. Once in every year, a wormhole that connects it from the world of Gaia to the Earth appears in certain parts of our world. This time, the hole must have appeared in the backyard of the Undead. Now let me ask you, are you still considered as a young girl? In my own perspective of young, I can still consider you one but I have to be sure.”

“Yes, I am.”

“Just as I thought. They actually plan to revive the Lich King.”

“IS it bad to revive him?”

“Bad? My dear, the Lich King is known for his cruelty and torture. If his going to be revived, the race of the Elves, Nagas and even Orcs will be endangered and most probably, the humans too.”

“The humans? No! We already experienced the scariest thing in the whole world when a giant beetle infiltrated our place and killed my friends. I can’t let another friend of mine be killed by them.” I screamed.

“Then, you must escape from here.”

I was stunned.

“Escape? Why?”

“Haven’t you been listening to my story? A human girl is going to be sacrificed in order for the Lich King to revive and I believe it was you. A little while ago, the living skeletons took your companions away and most probably, they were turned to another living skeleton. You were the only one who’s spared.”

The fear crept in me. Again, humans were taken away by this heartless monsters.

The bitter cold of the night struck me as I realized that I have been talking with the old elf for too long. Wind blew from the small opening of the iron filled room. It was scary and lonely. At this hour, I may have been out now eating in a restaurant with my friends talking about our love life and school life. We would laugh from the smallest idiotic mistake of our companions and teases them till the whole day is done.

Now, those days are long gone. I even feel like it was a dream at all. Then I felt drops of cold water in my cheeks and that’s when I realized that I was crying the whole time I was thinking about them.

“Old elf, I want to get out of here.” I spoke remembering my dead friends.

“Are you sure about that?”

“Yes. The more I’ll stay here, the more risk I’ll give to my people. I have to escape so that the Lich King won’t be revived. Can you help me out?”

“Of course. Though I’m old, I still have the strength to help you.”

“Then let’s get this started. I don’t know when will they revive the Lich King so I have to do it early.”

“Good decision.”
