Chapter 5

Alyssa's P.O.V. 

I wake up mine and Klaus's legs are tangled together my head on his chest. I feel him drawing patters on my arms. "Good morning love." I hear him say. "Good morning." I say in return. I kiss him on his lips and snuggle back into him. "Well that was unexpected. It left me wanting.....more." he admitted. Next thing I know he's on top of me. His lips come in contact with mine. The kiss becomes heated really fast. I pull away putting my hands on his chest to stop him. "As nice as that was. I'm starving." I panted. "Okay love but we will  continue this later." Klaus announced. We both get up and he puts his hand in mine. Together we walk out of his room to the dining room. When we are seated we are sitting next to each other. A maid comes in. "Please be a dear and fetch us some breakfast." Klaus orders. The maid leaves to go fulfill her task. "So love what is it that you love to do?What is that sets your soul on fire." Klaus asks looking at me. "Well I use to write but I stopped after 2 years with him." I emphasize him meaning Cory. "Why did you stop?" he asks. "When the beatings started I was just in pain so much majority of the time. I had no time for it." I say honestly. "When is your birthday?" He inquires. "March 2nd." I answer. "Ah it's coming up soon." he says knowingly. I nod my head yes. "Love?" I hear Klaus asks. I turn to him with my eyebrows raised. "Why did you stay with him? He would beat you but you kept choosing to stay. Why?" he asks. "Because it was my fault. I always did something wrong. I tried to please him. I even dye well dyed my hair blonde for him But it was never enough. So it was my fault I did everything wrong.I'm a failure." I sobbed. My sobs cease when the maid comes in and sets our plates in front of us. "Leave us at once." Klaus orders. When she leaves my sobs start again never ceasing. I'm crying so much I don't notice Klaus bend down in front of me. He takes a hold of my arms pulling them away from me. I continue crying into my shoulder. "Alyssa look at me." he pleads. I don't look at him. "Alyssa sweetheart please look at me." He pleads again. I raise my head to meet his eyes. "I need you to listen to me. You are not a failure. You did everything right. It was never your fault. You don't need to change yourself to make someone happy. If a man doesn't recognize your worth they're an idiot." Klaus voiced. When he stops is when I notice I stopped crying. "Thank you." I say. "Just stating the truth love. And you're welcome." he adds. I give him a quick peck on the lips. He pulls his chair closer to mine. I take up my fork but before I can put the food in my mouth Klaus takes the fork out of my hand. I cross my arms and pout. "Open up love." He says holding the fork in front of my mouth. I  does as he says. When he pulls the fork out I begin to chew. He keeps feeding me until I consume all the food. When it's all gone I pick up his fork putting some food on it. I put up to his mouth and start feeding him. Minutes later we are both done eating. I hear someone cough and turn to look and see it's Rebekah. She kindly smiles at me and i smile back. "Nik can I have a moment alone with Alyssa?" she asks. I turn around and give Klaus a nod saying it's okay. He leaves the room and Rebekah comes to sit by me." I am truly sorry for the way I acted the other day." She starts. "You were really mean." I state. "I know and I'm sorry for that. I'm not normally like that honest I swear. But sometimes I'm not that great with new people. So can we start over?" she asks looking at me with pleading eyes. "Alyssa." I say giving her my hand to shake. "Rebekah." she states grabbing my hand. "So she what's going on with you and my brother?" she smirks. "I saw how you two were in here." she adds. My cheeks heat up. " I honestly don't know but I do like him. He makes me feel a way I don't think I ever felt in my life." I answer. "Let me tell you something about Nik." she starts. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "Nik?" I say confusion written over my face. "Klaus.Klaus's full name is Niklaus." she tells me. "But anyways when Nik falls for someone he falls hard." She tells me. "And I can tell by watching how he is with you that he is falling and he doesn't mind it one bit." she adds. "Do you want to go to the grill?" I ask. "Yeah sure." she answers. I get up to go get changed but Rebekah takes a hold of my hair and inspects it. "Your hair is fading?" she questions looking at me. I nod my head. " Yeah I'm not naturally blonde. I dyed it because Cory made  me." I say through gritted teeth. "Well love I can't wait to see your hair wearing it's natural red." she tells me. "Now go and get dressed." she pushes me playfully and I chuckle going to get dressed. When I'm finished getting dressed I look at myself in the mirror. I'm wearing a blouse that has straps that criss cross. I see Klaus coming up behind me and he hugs me from behind nuzzling his head into my neck. "Going somewhere?" he asks. 
I turn my head to meet his lips and smile into the kiss. "Yeah me and Rebekah are going to the grill for drinks." I tell him. "Well be careful love." He lets me go and I walk to the door opening it. "And by the way love you look absolutely ravishing." He tells me before I walk completely out of his room. Me and Rebekah are at the grill on our fourth shot of vodka talking about random things. I hear the door of the grill open and in comes Matt. Matt looks over at me and smiles. "You look happy." He tells me when he walks over. "Yeah I am actually. I've been staying with Klaus the past two days. It's  over Matt I'm not with Cory anymore." I tell him downing my shot. Matt takes me in his arms hugging me. "That's amazing Alyssa. Finally you left that bastard." He exclaims. "Yeah it is but anyways I'll talk to you later I'm spending time with Rebekah." I tell him. He goes to the back room to get dressed for work. A few minutes late me and Rebekah are laughing about something when  I see him walk in.
I freeze in fear. Oh no this this can't be happening. Before I'm able to turn around he spots and starts to walk over. I turn around and nudge Rebekah. "Rebekah he's  here and he's walking over here." I tell her fearfully. "Who's here?" She asks. "My ex the one who gave me these bruises." I tell her. "Come on let's go we're out of here." She takes me by the hand. When we get up we're met with Cory. "Well look who it is if it isn't  the little bitch. What? New friend? That's  not going to last long. She only feels sorry for you. " he said. "That is not true. If you don't leave here immediately I will have your head." I here Rebekah speak up for me. "The little bitch has someone fighting her battles for her? Can't speak up for yourself? I should have expected as much you are a weak and worthless. " He states. I bite my lip to stop from crying. I hear swearing and look up to see Cory holding his nose blood on his hand. Me and Rebekah quickly get out of there and to her car. When the grill is finally out of sight I sigh in relief. "He was beginning  to get on my nerves. I'm glad we got out of there. Us girls have got to stick together." She states. "Do you-" I cut her off. "No O don't want to talk about it." I tell her. "Okay fine but I'm going to have to tell Klaus what happened." She says in response. There is complete silence after that. When we pull up to the familiar house Rebekah gets out. "Stay here." She orders. When she gets into the house that's when my tears fall.

Klaus's P.O.V.
"Nik!" I hear my sister Rebekah call. I speed down stairs to meet her. I don't  see Alyssa anywhere in sight. "Sister where is Alyssa?" I ask. "She's  in the car her ex Cory showed up at the grill and he said these really awful things to her and she's pretty shaken up. You need to go talk to her. After hearing what happened I can't help but feel angry. How dare he hurt her! I walk out of the house and to Alyssa. Using my hearing I hear that Alyssa is crying and it breaks my heart to hear her do so. I open the car door and crouch down I unbuckle her seat belt.
"Rebekah told me what happened love. Is there anything that I can do?" I ask. "No there isn't  anything.  He's  right I am weak." She sobs. I take her in my arms. I use my foot to close the door. I walk her into the house and walk to her room. I open the door and set her down in her bed pulling the covers up to her. I sit next to her as she continues to sob letting her cry it all out. A few minutes kater she stops. "Sorry I ruined your shirt." She mutters. "It's quite alright love." I tell her. "Why don't  you get some rest love? I'll be here I'm  not leaving you."I assured. She closes her eyes and minutes later I hear her breathing even knowing she's  finally asleep. I tuck a piece of her hair behind her ear and bend down to kiss her forehead. I go to sit on the chair in her room and look at her sleeping figure.
