...

It was Monday; three days since Johanna's hospital visit. Her parents believed she was ready to go to school. It was her first day at Forks High. She was entering in as a junior.

Johanna had been homeschooled for most of her previous life. Her parents had told her that she needed to be more social since she would be going off to college soon. She didn't want to be thrown into a whole new environment but, she put up with it because arguing with her parents was futile.

The weather cut Johanna no slack her first day. There was hard rain and wind today. No one was outside in the parking lot.

Johanna's parked her old, but loveable hand-me-down car in a random parking space. She took out her oversized umbrella, but in the wettest state in America an "oversized" umbrella didn't exist.

Johanna walked calmly and without rush to the office. The wind blew her dark hair to the side. The darkness of the sky and her hair wonderfully complimented her tanned skin. It was hard to not look at her. Johanna had always thought of herself as averge, but in this seemingly perfect moment she looked better than average. And Jasper just so happened to be looking out the windows as she walked. Alice glanced over at him and a smirk crept on her face. Her plan was going perfectly.

"Do you know who that is?" Jasper asked Alice, not taking his eyes off the girl.

Alice had an intense interest in the subject and Jasper could tell. "She's new. Her name is Johanna. She's not good at making friends though. You should try talking to her. You do have a few classes with her." Jasper was defintely suspicious about Alice now but, the classes he had with Johanna piqued his interests.

"Which classes?" He asked, now giving Alice his full attention. A feeling of pure happiness and  excitement rose in Jasper. It was something he hadn't experienced in so long.

"Creative Writing, AP World History, and Literature."

The bell rang as Jasper nodded to Alice. Literature was his first class of the day, so he'd be seeing Johanna very soon.

...

Johanna was given a warm welcome from the office secratary, as well as her schedule. She honestly expected people who worked at public schools to be very lifeless. She looked at her first class: Literature. Sounds fun. Johanna always enjoyed reading. It was a good way to pass the time and she always found herself transporting to a new world while reading.

Johanna entered the classroom and saw a middle aged woman standing at the front of the class. "You must be the new student!" The woman said excitedly.

"Yeah," Johanna gave a breathy laugh to tone down the awkwardness.

"I'm Ms. Owen. What's your name?"
