Time Goes so Fast

I woke up the next day in bed, with Steven's uninjured arm wrapped around me, pulling me closer. I snuggled into him, feeling his warmth while being mindful of his wounds. I sighed in relief as I recognized that we were finally back in our own bed, in our own home. I cherished it all, despite Steven being hurt.

Then, the small smile that had been on my face disappeared in a split second as an unbearable wave of nausea chased over me, causing me to bolt to the bathroom. I puked, and felt the acidic substance travel through my throat. Tears bit at my eyes, and they leaked out as I puked again, unable to control the waves of nausea. I couldn't stop, even when I felt Steven's hand on my shoulder, moving his thumb in small circles and muttering words to calm me.

After about 25 minutes, I stood up, finally able to bear the evil thing called morning sickness that cane along with pregnancy. I turned around and smiled weakly at Steven, and he wrapped me in a warm embrace, being cautious about his injuries. We were going to get through this.

I smiled down at the little bundle in my arms. Rosey fluttered her little eyelids in her sleep, a dream causing her to let out a little whimper. I smiled even wider and brushed the small pink hairs out of her eyes. I made a small cooing noise to calm her down. Steven walked up behind me and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, looking down at Rosey. He smiled softly, and turned his head to give me a kiss on the cheek. Rosey was already 2 months old, and I couldn't have been happier with my life. Steven had made a full recovery from the injuries he had received when I first discovered I was pregnant. Rosey was completely healthy, and was growing up to be almost completely normal, except for her unusual pink hair.

~~yet another time skip~~

I smiled and clicked the button on the camera as Rosey blew out the candles on her cake, signifying that she was 5 now. Steven put an arm around my should and pressed a kiss to my cheek before looking back at our daughter. I rested my head on his shoulder, watching Garnet pick up Rosey and remove her glasses. I sighed, not believing it had already been 5 years since I had first held her in my arms. Garnet whispered something to Rosey, causing her to giggle. Garnet pressed a kiss to her forehead before putting her down. Then, not to my surprise, Garnet unfused and Ruby and Sapphire stood there, holding hands and beaming with joy. Rosey gave them both a giant hug. Garnet unfused for Rosey's birthday every year, not wanting to miss out like they had with Steven.

~~sorry, this is the fastest way to capture Rosey's childhood~~

I wiped the tears away as Rosey stood on stage alone at the microphone, singing. She had the voice of an angel, and always got a solo in her choir concerts at school. Her eyes searched the audience, and she smiled when she spotted me and Steven. I gave her a tiny wave, and she looked back towards the back of the auditorium as she finished up her solo. I clapped as hard as I could when she turned and walked back towards her spot in the bleachers that were set up on stage. She was in 8th grade already, and I could remember the day we had brought her home like it was yesterday.

~~I said I was sorry, please don't hate me~~

I cried into Steven's shoulder as Rosey stood up at the sound her name. She walked up the steps, her graduation gown and cap making her look even more grown up. Her pink hair shone in the sun, accentuated by the tips, which she had dyed a shade of purple. She smiled as she was handed her high school diploma, and I cried even harder when she sat down. She was no longer my little baby. She was a woman now. She was 18. She was going to college in just a few short months.

I loved her so much. She was worth every moment.
