Really? There's no way that's right.

"PHILIP MICHAEL LESTER STOP DANCING AROUND THE TRUTH YOU IMBECILE!" I screamed through my phone's speaker, most likely doing some kind of damage to my best friend's ear drum. I didn't really care right now though, I mean it was the last thing I was worried about. I just had a conversation, small but still a conversation, with Dan fricking Howell. How could anyone expect me to be calm?
"Y/N! Okay, okay! Just shut up for two seconds, yeah?" Phil finally managed to squeeze in a response in between all my screeching.
I sighed heavily, "Sure, okay. Sorry."
"It's okay just give me a minute or two to explain as best as I can. You have time?"
"Always." I replied, my tone softening.
"Okay, good." From the other end of the line, I could hear shuffling and a few sighs. Why was this such a big deal to him anyways?
"So basically, Y/N, Mr. Howell may or may not have a slight crush on you." Even though I couldn't see his face, I knew Phil was grinning from ear to ear. but there's no way that could be right. Dan's...Dan. Why would someone with his level of amazingness waste their time crushing on me (now, people, you're amazing and awesome and quite beautiful so anyone can crush on you. Just keep that in mind) any other girl in the entirety of our school. "You still there?" Phil's small voice questioned through the phone. I shook my head hoping to rid my brain of any negativity. I needed to focus on what Phil was telling me.
"Yeah, I'm still here, just zoned out. Sorry, continue." I urged him.
"Right. Okay. As I was saying, Dan likes you. He has done for quite some time now. A few months maybe? That's from when he told me anyways. Maybe he's liked you for years!" Phil laughed excitedly. I couldn't help but giggle in response and my face was accompanied with a sudden heat on my cheeks.
"That's what the smirks from a few hours ago were all about though. He asked if there was any way of which he could contact you so I figured Snapchat would be best as you spend most of your time there. Besides all your fangirl sites. I figured you'd rather he didn't know about your obsessions just yet."
"You're too kind, keeping my facade of dignity upheld. I thank you very much." The thank you was sincere, there may have been a hint of sarcasm though. It's become a natural defense mechanism. I don't think I can go a sentence without sounding sardonic.
"My pleasure, my child."
"Phil...that's weird. i'm older than you but sure. Whatever floats your boat." I guess I call 20 something year olds my sons so this was fine.
"I was going to continue calling you my child even if you didn't approve."
"Good to know that my approval means nothing to you." I jokingly replied.
"Yep! Anyways Y/N, I should go. Mum needs my help in the kitchen."
"Is she really asking you for help in the kitchen?"
"Why yes, yes she is. I know I'm useless (bull crap Phil) in most ways but I can manage chopping vegetables...I think." He laughed nervously and we exchanged goodbyes. After the line went dead, I laid back on my bed and stared at the off-white ceiling. The boy with the the inviting cocoa eyes...liked me? I sighed and felt a petite smile tug at each side of my mouth.
"Wow, Y/N. Just chill. Breathe. He's just a boy." Just a boy of which may or may not like a potato of a human being. Laughing at my own thought, I rolled over. Maybe I'll have a pleasant sleep.
