12 Grimmauld Place
London, England
31 August 1996"Ara, please, tell me what Malfoy was doing?" Harry tried again.
"Harry, it's none of your concern."
"But you don't deny you were there? You don't deny you know what he's up to?"
"Harry, just let it go." Aurora sighed in annoyance as she folded her Hogwarts robes.
"It has something to do with you disappearing every so often, doesn't it?"
"Look, Harry, even if I wanted to tell you, I still wouldn't."
"So, you don't want to tell me what's going on?"
"It's none of your business!" Aurora said frustrated.
"Aurora, I'm worried all right..."
Aurora sighed. She folded the last of her robes and took the pile in her arms. "Harry, I'm not a little girl anymore! You don't need to be worried about me. Nothing's going to happen to me. I just want to help, like you. But I can't do that when you always try to meddle in my business. Stop worrying about me, or Malfoy, or anyone else. If your help is needed I will ask for it." She glared at Harry for a moment before passing him and going upstairs.
She opened the door to her room and walked over to the bed where her trunk was lying opened.
Her new books were lying in neat piles beside her cauldron with ingredients and she placed her robes on them.
"Please, tell me you've chosen Alchemy too!" Elizabeth stormed in and fell on the bed. "I really want to do it but I don't think I can handle being in a class with just Hermione for three hours every week."
Aurora laughed. "Like I had a choice in the matter. Dumbledore signed me in for every subject he thought appropriate."
Elizabeth groaned. "Mum said I should use my talent for Potions to its fullest so she made me take it."
"And she's right." Aurora said. "So what other subjects have you chosen?"
"Well, Potions obviously, Herbology, Charms, Care of Magical Creatures and Defence Against the Dark Arts. You?"
"Herbology, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Alchemy, Transfiguration, Arithmancy, Ancient Runes and History of Magic-"
"History of M- WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO YOURSELF!"
"Dumbledore said that they would cover the magical wizarding families this year..."
"Still!"
"Ok, he might have told me to take it and when I refused he just did it for me. I had no choice in the matter whatsoever."
Elizabeth shook her head like she was disappointed in something. She suddenly got up and closed the door to the room.
"Oh, please, don't do that! It's like fifty degrees in here!" Aurora complained, walking over to the door to open it again but Elizabeth stopped her.
"I need to tell you something...privately."
Aurora raised an eyebrow but didn't comment. She sat back on the bed and motioned for Elizabeth to continue.
For probably the first time in her entire life, Elizabeth blushed. "You're my best friend, Ara, and I love that I can tell you everything..."
"You did it with Jace, didn't you?" Aurora guessed calmly, but with a mischievious twinkle in her eyes.
"How did you-?"
"I know you and I know Jace...believe me, to me it was rather obvious." Aurora said carelessly. "I just didn't ask you about it because...well, this is my brother we're talking about..."
