Alex POV
These have been the most tiresome 3 months of my life. Between going to school and taking care of Ethan and Amanda I've had no time to socialize what so ever. I can't say I was shocked to hear that Ross had a girlfriend I mean I knew he was going to move on and 3 months is enough time to forget about someone. I on the other hand have to plan Amanda's birthday party and study for my history course. Or was it my English course? I came to Culinary school but I didn't stay there I ended up going to a different college because I didn't only want to learn about cooking.
Amanda was let out of coma 2 months ago and now she's very stable and healthy. She lost a lot of weight though so we had to go but her a whole no wardrobe. She already started in her new school and I drop her off everyday because it's close by to the college I go to. She's more mature than she was before she had the accident but I think that's for the best. Now I can trust that she has enough responsibility to take care of Ethan meanwhile I run to the store or something.
I've FaceTimed with Monica a couple of times these last 2 weeks but not as much as I would want to. College is difficult especially when you left a whole life behind and wish you had never left.
Amanda's birthday is in 3 days and I can't make her a party like I could have back home. She still doesn't know anyone here so she just wants me to make her favorite dishes and see movies with her all night. For me that sounds like a great idea but it doesn't sound like the kind of party a 10 year old should be having.
My phone rings and I rush over to it.
"Hello?"I say while checking under the table for my book.
*Guess where I am?* Monica asks me. There's a knock at my door and I grunt.
"Hold on the neighbor is probably asking if I've seen her cat again I swear this lady gets on my nerves,"I say as I walk over to the door. Danger starts barking and I tell him to hush up.
I open the door and find Monica standing outside.
"What are you doing here!"I ask pulling her into a tigh hug.
"I've missed you too,"she says hugging back. Danger starts tugging at her foot for her attention and she immediately bends down and starts rubbing his belly.
"Hi Danger where's my godson? Huh? Where is he?"she asks in a playful voice and I walk into Ethan's room to get him.
"Here he is,"I say handing over Ethan to Monica.
"Wow your slot heavier than I remember Ethan. I think it's time to cut back on the donuts,"she says with a smile and I laugh.
"He can walk and sort of run for short distances and he says mama,doggy,and Ema,"I say proud of my soon to be 1 year old sons short vocabulary.
"Just like your mother," Monica says giving Ethan a kiss and placing him down.
"So you never told me what you were doing here I mean not that I'm complaining," I say walking to the couch and checking under it for my book.
"Good Morning America is interviewing the band sometime this week I think so I decided to come along," she says and I crawl over to the table and search under it.
"He misses you, you know,"she says making my head shoot up only to find the wooden table above me with a loud thump. I run my hand over my head and crawl out from under the table.
"Really? It doesn't seem like it I mean doesn't he have a girlfriend?" I say heading to my room to check there.
"Yes but she's his rebound,"she argues.
"Girlfriend non the less,"I say finding my textbook between a pair of clean jeans.
"As neat as ever I see," Monica remarks and I shoot her a glare.
"Hey can you help me by taking care of Ethan? My car is in the shop until tomorrow at 7 in the morning so I'll pick you up at the hotel and you can come so you can help me cook for Amanda," I say already taking her answer as a yes.
"Okay,"she says and she walks into Ethan's room. 5 minutes later she comes back out with a bag full of diapers and baby clothes.
"Text me what hotel your at and I'll go buy everything before picking you up."
"Yes ma'm,"she says taking Ethan by the hand.
"By Ethan,"I say walking over to him and giving him a big kiss,"behave good okay don't cause any trouble for aunt Monica okay?" I kiss him one more time and they walk out of the door.
"Great now I have to clean this mess and study afterwards,"I sigh as I talk to myself.
"Lucky me."
