Alex POV
My head feels fuzzy and I debate on opening my eyes. I no longer feel the cold hard bench beneath me which forces me to open my eyes. I look around me and I notice I'm in my bedroom. Crap Monica or Becky must have found me. I grunt and lay my head back onto my pillow pet. There's a knock at the door and Rydel walks in.
"Hey how do you feel?" She asks me carefully.
"My eyebrow hurts every time I blink," I state flatly.
"Her lip hurts every time she talks," Rydel says with a small smile. I smile a bit and close my eyes.
"It took us about 3 hours total to find you that's counting the time it took us to figure out where you might be," she says taking a seat on my bed.
"Us? I thought it was just Becky and Monica," I say confused.
"Becky kind of told us where you were," she shrugs,"it was harder than we thought."
"For the fact that I didn't want to be found I think that was the point," I say with a smile," but if it wasn't Becky or Monica then who found me?" I ask curiously.
"Um Ross found you and brought you here," she says in a quiet voice.
"It's ok Rydel, it's just Ross and yes we used to have a thing for each other but not anymore," I say and try to convince myself of that.
"You kissed him already?" she asks her eyes slightly wider.
"What! No!" I reply quickly.
"Then how do you know your over him? That's the only way to know for sure that you over someone," she say and for a girl who still hasn't had her first kiss yet she knows a lot about relationships.
"Where is he?"
"In the living room," she replies with a confused expression.
"Ross!" I call for him. I have to know that there's nothing between me and Ross. Nothing at all.
"What?" He asks stepping into the room. I take in a deep breath and walk towards him.
I look at him in the eye and lean in to kiss him. He hesitates at first and then he begins to kiss back. I forget about everything. I'm no longer thinking about anything other than me and him. There's nothing other than me and him. And being in his arms makes me feel invincible. Nothing can harm me.
Rydel POV
I see Alex stand up and crash her lips into Ross's. I let out a tiny gasp and no one seems to hear. Ross looks at me and then slowly closes his eyelids. I smile at my job well done. I would be even more proud if they wouldn't be at the door so that way I can leave.
I sit there awkwardly and look at the fire escape. Alex hands are now in Ross's hair and he's pulling her so close I'm scared her back might snap. I walk over to the window and pull it open and shut it close behind me. I go down to the level bellow and it leads to another apartment. Ugh I have to go all the way to the bottom! The things I do for these two.
Ross POV
I don't know what's going on. I'm really confused at Alex sudden burst but I'm not complaining. She pulls back and catches her breath and I do the same. She peers up at me and I stare at her. I look at her lips and then her eyes again. I lean in and so does she and we begin to kiss once more except I take it a bit further this time. I lift her up with out lips still attached and she wraps her legs around my waist and tugs at my hair. I let out a soft moan and walk over to her bed and when in about to place her down she flips us so she's on top.
"We can't do this,"she says breathing hard.
"You leave in a couple of days and then what? I can't do long distance relationships.it wouldn't be fair to either of us," she keeps breathing heavily.
"Then come here," I say motioning her to lay down next to me.
I begin to sing lyrics of random songs with off notes.
I sing bits and pieces of Louder and wishing I was 23 as I play with her hair. Her head lays still on my chest and I accidentally brush her forehead and it burning hot.
"Whatha?" I ask placing my hand on her forehead and immediately pulling it back again.
"Your burning," I say getting off the bed to notice she's asleep.
"Hey," I say walking into the living room.
"Hey lover boy I see something happened I mean just look at your hair," Becky says with a smile.
"Alex has a high fever,"I say walking over to the kitchen as searching the cabinets until I find the medicine cabinet. I find some Tylenol and head back to the room.
"Alex," I say shaking her to wake up.
"Alex," I shake again but she still doesn't move. I touch her forehead and it's hotter than before.
I pick her up bridal style and head to the living room.
"Let's go she's burning up and won't even wake up she need to get checked up," I say my voice cracking a bit. I don't know where I heard or read this but I know a person can die from a high fever.
Alex can't die.
Not yet.
I won't let her.
