Chapter 3

Bright and early Yuhi was there, Very impressed by Lenient's flat buoyant of timber fastened together but mostly surprised by the hard work which he did at night and he sat in silence beside him and started to puff his pipe on his nose so that he may lift out from the dust; Lenient may not like his way of waking him; but he did and as to why it seems as if it's one of their dogmatic assertions which directly makes Lenient awake and without saying a word, he washed his passport at the river and He sat wondering if he will get some breakfast but worst instead of some breakfast he saw four people bringing some beer of bananas mingled with some honey as breakfast, Yuhi and some other man started drinking which made Lenient profoundly puzzled.

But for Lenient, he kept asking for some milk and everyone laughed at him as if he was very naive; It was very absurd ,they said its restricted for boys of his age to drink milk as if it was poisonous to his intestines; Meanwhile Yuhi took five robust man in private for a talk, after a minute they were there and they were about to go, Every one of them had a spear and a gourd full of milk, as for Lenient all he could go with was his dog Scuppy so with no retardation Yuhi was in front and they sailed ten or fifteen minute without fear or favor and they arrived on other side of the lake; it was in the north from where they came , Yuhi started to give orders, One man was supposed to stay with Lenient on the raft while the other four moves afar with Yuhi to check what was there.

Fear start to arouse, It has been already one hour and no one came back, "What if they are trapped? Lenient asked himself and then his friend replied "What if they made a raid upon them? Be positive young man; How about forestalling? Maybe they could find something useful; the man with Lenient directly agreed and they moored the vessel in the nearby shrub and they went, it was a leap with unpredictable consequences as they walked some miles and they ended up on a hill full of growing crops, "They are some people living here", How do you know? Because someone planted those sorghum, Are you sure that those are not nature herbs? "Yes I'm sure" Replied Lenient, his friend was fit to bust suggesting that they have to move quickly to rescue them as they knew what was going on , No let's keep moving discreetly like conspirators; but him ,Lenient was secretly afraid; if there is a horde, they ought to be cautious, what else could they do? Wait awhile? No, even if Lenient was a sapling ,they have to keep moving forward by any means, for this is his only chance to live, and to endear; Lenient wanted everyone to know him and to love him so he played the heroes, Nevertheless He thought his tidings can help them , for instance they played peekaboo, they could hide till they hear a wailing voice and they would glide from hence till they take them by surprise, so briefly that was it ; It may seem strange to say but Peekaboo was a stroke of genius even if Lenient's comrade said it is against the grain because he wanted them to rustle straight till they get on their own back; but well ,I tell something without thinking ill of his idea, They were not the knight of the road, so how could they walk as if they have frequently walked in this country before, Isn't right? They have at least to take them by surprise and make their hail curl.

On dime they saw clustered houses and at first sight everyone seemed to be out of a clear blue sky, a man were dozing in front of his grotty house whilst his wife stepped out to craft a wholly watching his six children playing on the ground, three boys were picking up chips, one girl interlocking loops of yarn with knitting needles, and two more girls playing a piece of stone by toing and froing, everything seemed uncanny, it was quite needless to put them to any trouble and apparently it was as if nothing unusual happened here, It was quite puzzling, did the Police took them? May be after all Lenient was still in 21 century? So what next! Lenient's comrade suggested that He can run the risk to know what's going on by ostentatiously walk toward that house and draw their attention; hither and thither he went wandering.

At that moment Lenient was left alone cold feet with a trenchant knife in the mountain, briskly at the ready for it was very obvious that Yuhi was in one of those clustered houses and, in truth, He was perplexed to know which one and the least he was able to do was to grin and bear it till his comrade get back; Everyone seemed wilfully busy till Lenient saw things changing, everyone was puffing up toward a nearby big three as if an assemble was about to happen. However it was not quite easy to immediately define what's going on but it was very probable that something unusual was about to happen, It was going to get worse if they were about to kill his comrades, what was he supposed to do? Linger on or let rip? For better or worse he have to find a way to cook there goose and to rescue his comrade.

There was a noise of someone approaching Lenient; it was his comrade, what the hell was he still doing there? And what's going on? He said something unbelievable was about to happen? What was that? No idea! They told him that four noblemen passed there in the morning coaxing everyone to light there pipe, they went from one house to another doing the same thing, what! And nobody fought them? How comes? They should have gave them the big elbow, but that was not the end of it, they told him that they saved one of their children by giving him some milk and that's how a raid turned into an absurd event, Yuhi made a deal with them, he promised to give them some cows and they shall fetch and carry for his tribe in exchange, He said that the two tribes can live together bartering.

On the other hand the assemble was about to begin, and it was typically the same as the way of Lenient's world, leaders in the middle while the whole village encircle them, but surprisingly only Yuhi and his comrade was in the middle of the assemble, Lenient could see in his gesticulation that he was apt to lead them ,He had the gift of the gab and little by little it made him laugh on the other side of his face and even his comrade started panting to run toward them, It seemed as if we have triumphed without a fight , the whole tribe was clapping and laughing aloud as if there existence lies at the mercy of Yuhi.

At this point everything seemed to be a roaring success, what should they do now? Rush to meet them? What about striking a pose where everyone could see them? Of course yes, and from then Lenient and his comrade strolled till the entrance of the village where everyone could see them; at the first impression the tribe was like some cats on a hot tin roof, very unease but very eager to attack them if Yuhi say the word "thrust stone upon them" but on the contrary He was overwhelmed to see them and he gave them a warm welcome, the whole tribe was staring at them in a sight for sore eyes as if Lenient was a god but I guess it was because He was obviously different from them according to his pyjamas, anyway Yuhi after seeing all of that He ordered that everyone get back in his activity and for them ,they will go and come back in some few hours with more man but meanwhile three man shall stay there with the tribe.

At this point everything seems easy-going as long as Lenient go with the flow for all seemed sudden and unexpected; for first, they turned his insights into follies and second, how could they blow the whole tribe's mind at the same time? Evidently, they can befool everyone by a squint-eye, Yuhi did it, colonialist did it and as far as I know parents does it too, as for the tribe and their fall into yuhi's lap they should have at least acted sour grapes.

On the other hand Yuhi and his man bustled back in the tribe and along the way Yuhi kept telling them the secret of conquering the human race is to dabble in their lives looking quite undismayed and then steal a march on solicitude with great enthusiasm, really! Yes and nobody will be prudent to refrain you, He was speaking sturdily as if people are made to fend for themselves, But such ideas in itself belong to the realm of smugness, for almost one hour before reaching the shore he kept sharing his vision to that land, He said that they should stop to continue move for there they found a beautiful rangeland, they was going to settle down there and make that their permanent nation and as for Lenient everything started gradually to become clear, To be sure he learned that in the latter days a gregarious tribe settled down in a hilly region and along a lake full of many marsh they built they home on one hill and that's exactly what he started foresaw coming
