Hello, this is Louis, Harry's friend. I'd like to go out to dinner. Any suggestions where? Lou
Louis cringes as he types the message, for more than one reason. The first one being that he called Harry his friend, which he told himself he wouldn't settle for. The second is that he's asking a girl out to dinner. What the fuck? He's gay. Girls are not attractive to him. Especially not Harry's ex-girlfriend.
But, Louis has no other choice.
At this point, he's still at Harry's house. Harry is sitting opposite of him in a plush chair, while Louis sits on the couch.
"I really want to make up. I do. Can we just be friends? Please?" Harry begs. No. Louis's subconscious says. He knows he has to get over the straight boy, and making up won't help his case.
"Harry.. I can't do that." Louis replies, feeling guilty. He knows he still likes Harry, and it's killing him. If Harry would just be bi-curious or something, life would be better, in Louis's eyes. Little does he know..
Harry is bi-curious. He can't deny his feelings for the boy in front of him. Romantic feelings, ones he wishes would just go away. That would make everything so much easier. If he could just go back in time and unschedule that collab with Louis, he wouldn't have developed feelings for him, and everything would still be normal. The thing with that is Harry doesn't like his old normal; he doesn't regret collabing with Louis. He's glad he did, because if he didn't he would still be oblivious to how dumb Elaine is and how perfect Louis is. Oops.
"Why not?" Harry frowns as he asks the question that had been bothering him all day.
"Because, I can't." Well, that doesn't help.
"Seriously." Harry prods.
"I think I should go." Louis says, standing up to pick up his jacket.
"Give me an answer!" Harry's beginning to get mad. And, mad Harry is not a good Harry to be around.
"You can't force me to!" Louis says, starting to walk towards the door.
"I like to think otherwise." Harry says as he grabs Louis's wrist. "Now tell me." Harry whispers into Louis ear. Louis shivers as the hot breath tickles his neck.
"And what if I don't?" Louis challenges, despite the warning signs and the unbelievably arousing breath on his neck.
Harry doesn't have an answer. He knows he can't hurt Louis, so he hopes the silence will be enough to get Louis to spill the beans.
Louis is getting more and more tense under Harry's grasp, and he is about to do just as Harry hopes he will. Tell him everything. But, the way their bodies are pressed together combined with Harry's hot breath and vanilla scent muddle Louis's thoughts. He doesn't believe he can construct a coherent sentence.
Eventually, Harry just lets go. He knows Louis isn't going to answer, so what's the point of holding him any longer? Besides the fact that Harry loves the way Louis smells and how his feathery hair is right at the height where Harry could tangle his fingers in it and how Louis is trembling underneath his touch and how every goddamn thing about the boy in front of him is driving him crazy and he can't get his thoughts together, either.
The effect these boys have on each other is something neither of them have ever experienced, and if one of them would just open up their eyes and see how the other reacts to him... maybe then they could settle the battles in their minds. The battles between liking Harry and wanting to get over him; the battles of liking Louis so much it hurts, and not being able to tell him.
