Hannah had forgotten about her missing boyfriend until she woke up to the sound of a door opening. She sleepily opened her eyes and looked around the dark bedroom. Her eyes saw the empty spot next to her and remembered what had happened.

She looked at the digital clock beside the bed. It read: 1:35 am. Getting up groggily, she slipped on a pair of slippers and wrapped a short blanket around herself and walked out of the room.

She was startled to see a figure walking down the hallway towards her. She was about to scream when the figure spoke.

"Hannah?" He sounded tired and confused.

"Lewis!" Hannah said, and wrapped her arms around him. Then she seemed to remember that he almost gave her a heart attack and took a step back. "Where the h*ll were you?! It's 1 am!"

"I..." Lewis began, sounding unsure of himself. He scratched the back of his head, and then flinched. He let his hand drop down to his side. "I don't really know. All I know is just that I woke up in my car with a crazy neckache." He put a hand on his neck to make his point.

"What do you mean you just 'woke up' in your car?!" Hannah asked.

"I don't know! I can't even remember what caused me to pass out!" Lewis said. "I didn't crash; the car's okay."

"I don't care about the car!" Hannah said. "I care about you! What the h*ll happened?!"

"I don't know!" Lewis massages his neck with his hand. "Can I just go to bed? My neck is killing me."

"...Fine," Hannah agrees, her arms crossed. "But your explaining yourself in the morning."

Lewis nodded and he and Hannah both headed into the bedroom and went to sleep.

The next morning when Hannah woke up, she panicked slightly when Lewis wasn't in the bed. She got up and went out to the kitchen, where she found him in the living room, pacing back and forth. That was when she realized how different he looked. His hair was in disarray(although that could've been bedhead) and his skin was paler than usual.

"Okay," Hannah said. "It's morning. Explain. Now."

"I can't!" Lewis said. "I've been thinking all morning, but I can't remember!"

"You can't remember why you just 'passed out'?"

"No!"

Hannah looked Lewis head to toe, then took a step close to him.

"Let me see your neck," Hannah said. Lewis looked at her in question, which made her roll her eyes. "You said something like your neck was hurting last night."

"It's gone away," Lewis said, and rubbed his neck again. "A bit."

Hannah sighed and pushed his hand away. She pulled down the collar of his shirt and took an involuntary gasp. On the side of his neck were two small red bumps. She didn't know what she was expecting, but it wasn't that.

"What?" Lewis asked. "What is it?" Actual fear had taken the confusion out of his voice.

"Just," Hannah tried to think on how to put what she saw in 'nice' words. "Two bumps, I guess."

"Two bumps?! What do you mean?"

"Just... two bumps," Hannah let Lewis' collar go back where it was. "Like a mosquito bite. Or," She chuckled to herself. "A vampire bite." Lewis chuckled and rolled his eyes. A vampire bite? Like that was going to happen.

The two drove to the office and headed inside. Their attention was taken away when they saw Paul with a white bandage on his hand.

"Whoa, Sjin," Lewis began. "What happened?"
