You wander around the room aimlessly, fingering your Playlist Live keychain, and fiddling with the settings on your camera. You're known for being punctual, and you know Karlie is known for the opposite. You also know that she has an infamously awful sense of direction.

The two of you have never met. Not in the physical sense, at least. You've been watching her videos for nearly two years now, and she says it's been about the same on her end. You feel like you know her well from her vlogs, but you also know, from your own experience, that there's probably a lot that she doesn't share. And you have talked with her online, and she's the one who suggested the collab in the first place, so you shouldn't be nervous. But you are.

So, when she arrives two minutes later, a slightly disheveled look about her, you can't help but sigh in relief. She grins when she spots you waving, and you think you might melt because her smile is the purest thing you've ever seen.

"Hi Taylor, so sorry I'm late, I somehow went to the exact other side of the building, and then ran all the way here...it was a fiasco," she says, still a little bit out of breath.

You giggle, "It's all good, don't worry. My room's nearby."

Karlie runs a hand through her blonde tresses. "Mind if I vlog this? I'm daily vlogging Playlist on my second channel. So original, I know."

You roll your eyes, "Sure, do whatever you want, just don't expose all my secrets."

She pulls out a small camera from her bag, and turns it on. Clicking record, she says, "Hey guys, look who I finally found after like 20 years of stairs!" slowly pans your way, and your make sure to give the camera your weirdest face. "It's Taylor!"

Karlie throws her head back, laughing loudly, which might be the best sound you've ever heard. "That's thumbnail material."

"Noooo," you whine, "Don't use my ugly face as your thumbnail."

You had no reason to worry. You continued your playful banter all the way back to the room where you somehow managed to successfully film two videos in between your endless fits of giggles. You both agreed to switch it up, and post the vlog on your channel, which consists of mostly music, and post the song on hers, which is mostly vlogs.

For your channel, you both talked about your experience moving to and living alone in New York ("Now that you're done unpacking and stuff, I need to take you around when we get back").

And for Karlie's, you brought out your guitar and did a purposefully awful cover of "All Star" ("Because why not?") and also filmed your interpretive dance moves to edit in between clips ("Taylor, I'm honored to be in the most memelicious video on your channel so far...and yes that's a word.")

It's interesting to think about how close you and Karlie live now that you moved into the city. You really hope that you'll actually be able to hang out sometime. You have a feeling that you're going to become fast friends.

Yes, that is correct, congrats on your great observation skills m8. I've always wanted to write a kaylor youtube au because youtube is basically my life (also I have a channel so if you're feeling extra lovely maybe check it out???). I've got some great stuff planned for this and I'm so excited to share it with you (don't worry, the angst is coming soon).
