K A R L I E

You managed to get Knicks tickets, and Cara helped you gather the courage to ask Taylor to go with you. She accepted, of course, so now you're pacing your room trying to figure out what to wear on this...date?

When Cara asked if it was a date, you vehemently denied it. But maybe you want it to be? It's not like you like Taylor, but she is really beautiful and intelligent, and her voice gives you goosebumps.... But you're just friends. You known she just got out of a serious relationship, and she hasn't shown any interest in dating anyone. Let alone you.

"Argh!" you scream in frustration.

Cara comes stomping into the room. "Alright, tell me what the bloody hell is going on in here or stop interrupting Keeping up with the Kardashians!"

You slump onto the bed. "I don't have anything to wear!" you whine.

"Christ on a fucking bike you've got mountains of clothes in the closet! Just pick something! It's not that difficult." Your roommate sighs. "Here. Black on black. You'll look badass and mysterious. Congrats." She saunters back into the living room to continue with her reality TV marathon.

You chuckle at her antics, but actually don the shirt she picked out. You throw on a pair of jeans and grab your bag. Taylor's apartment is walking distance from yours, so you put in your headphones as you begin the trek to her place.

You're a bit late, as usual, but this time, so is she. It's about five minutes before you she comes outside and you both clamber into a cab. You make light conversation on the way to the stadium, and before you know it, she has you laughing like crazy. Taylor's energy and humor are so infectious to be around.

There's a bit of a mob going into the building, and Taylor grabs your hand so you don't get separated. You bite your lip to keep from smiling.

Once you get inside, you insist on paying for drinks and shirts, it's your treat after all, and Taylor pouts adorably. She then pulls out her phone and you take a quick selfie for instagram. You're standing in line to get beer when two people walk up to you. They look about fourteen. "Um hi, I hope we're not intruding, but we're both really big fans of your videos," one of them says.

You beam at them. "No, you're not intruding! Thanks for watching our videos!"

"What are your names?" Taylor asks, a similar smile stretched across her cheeks.

"I'm Heather," the one who spoke earlier says.

"I'm Jude," says the other one.

"You guys have such cool names!" Taylor gushes, "Hey Jude is like my favorite Beatles song!"

He laughs, "Yeah, that's why I chose it! It's such a good song!" You note the cat shaped pin with the transgender flag on his jacket.

You talk to them for the next few minutes. To their credit, they don't act like screaming fangirls and fanboys for most of the time, and you actually can have a conversation. You learn that they're brother and sister, twins in fact, and that they're been watching you for around two years, and Taylor for about one.

Soon, they get a call from their mother, telling them to stop wandering and make their way back to their seats. You take a few selfies with them and then send them on their way. They're barely ten feet away when you hear Heather yell, "I ship them so hard!" probably assuming you can't hear her over the noise.

Taylor blushes and you just laugh. "I've seen some people shipping us on tumblr and stuff," she says quietly.

You shoot her a wink, but then notice how tense she seems, and how her hands are fidgeting with each other. "Hey," you say seriously, "It doesn't bother me at all. They're just having a bit of fun. But if it's making you uncomfortable, then we can say something, or--"

"No, it's okay," she says, relaxing a bit. "I don't mind at all. My, um, my ex was kind of weird about that stuff though so I just didn't know how you felt about it." You get the feeling that you're not getting the full story. You don't push her though. She'll tell you when she's ready. There's a bit of an awkward silence, but it's quickly broken when you get up to the counter to get your beer.

The rest of the night is spectacular. Taylor knows absolutely nothing about basketball, so you have to explain everything to her, but you don't really mind. You love the way she furrows her eyebrows when she's confused. Eventually though, you both give up, and she just cheers when you do.

The slight buzz of alcohol running through your veins gives you the courage to rest your head on Taylor shoulder, and even give her a kiss on the cheek. And, when you walk out of the building proudly holding hands, you realize that this might've been the best night you've had in a while.

A/N: Hey fam!  Here's another chapter for y'all!  This fanfic was originally only gonna be 14 chapters, but I just had a good idea, so I think I'm going to extend it to about 16 chapters or so :)
