Chapter 1: My Plan

I've never thought I would like to be the center of attention, until of course everyone started ignoring me.

I haven't had any idea why people didn't like me. I was nice and I was always there for people when they needed me.

At this very moment I would do anything for people to notice me.

Luke Hemmings ....

He was the only guy that came to mind. luke was the school's most popular soccer player, also the only guy that could make a girl get noticed just by standing near him. luke only knew me because of my brother.

Austin, how I hated him. He was popular and Luke best bud. Me and Austin haven't had a normal conversation in what it felt like forever.

We lived in the same house but he wasn't my real brother, mom adopted him when she fount out she couldn't have anymore children. He hated me and the feeling was mutual.

I was thinking of ways that I could talk to Luke with Austins approval. I could give Austin money? I could do his homework for a month, but knowing Austin he would probably want a whole bunch more. The only problem was, I didnt have any more to offer.

I walked to Austin's room, it was 3 in the morning I wasn't expecting him to be awake. He has always locked his door at night but I knocked anyway. I was surprised when I heard him ask who was there. I waited a little bit until I finally spoke up "It's me, Leah." I knew he didn't wanna talk to me especially at 3 am.

I heard him walking to unlock the

door, I stood there waiting until I looked up and met eyes with the devil himself, Austin. "What do you want?" he said in the most arrogant voice. I didn't know what I wanted to be honest, I hadn't known if I wanted him to talk to Justin or not. "I just wanna talk, I can't sleep and you're the only other person in the house." I waited impatiently for him to say something back. There was silence for a moment until he opened his door all the way and gestured for me to come inside.

I always wondered what was inside his room, I've never been in it. Once I walked inside it was the total opposite of my room, his room was cluttered, messy, disgusting all in one. There were paper and magazines everywhere. You could barley see the ground nor his bed. Maybe that's why no one has went in his sorry excuse for a "man cave."

It took me a while to clear a spot on the floor so I could sit, while Austin threw himself on his bed. Once I was properly sitting I drew all my attention on Austin he was looking down at his phone I didn't bother to ask who he was talking to so I just started talking, making Austin jump and look at me. I started talking about how I wanted to talk to him more and I asked if he hated me and why? He didn't say a word but by his expression I knew he was bored already. I started saying how I think everyone hates me now that we've started high school, me and Austin has been in the same grade since 3rd grade and it didn't effect me until now.

Austin didn't seem to be interested in what I was saying until I finally mentioned Luke "I think Luke could help me with this everyone hating me situation." I started. Austin looked at me confused like where was I going with this. He let me explain why Luke was involved I finished "Maybe Luke could pretend to date me only until I get some actual friends" This whole time I was in Austin's room he hadn't said one word, he just looked at me with weird faces, I was starting to think Austin wasn't gonna answer and just leave me hanging.

Until I finally heard him say "I think i could make that happen, but I'm gonna need something from you too" I knew I wasn't going to get off that easy, I was just scared at what he wanted. He noticed I wasn't going to answer so he just blurted out "Since you're gonna use my friend's, im gonna use yours." He didn't listen to me at all if he did he would've knew I didn't have any friends. "But Austin, I have no friends." I whispered. "Yeah, I know I was listening." he stated.

"Leah, im gonna need time to think about this." Austin said with a evil smirk that meant nothing but trouble. I was instantly starting to doubt coming to Ausin. He got off his bed and walked slowly to where I was sitting he put his hand on my shoulder and I smacked his hand he lifted his hand off and said "hey, sis I think it's time for us both to go to bed." he offered his hand out to me and I took it, he helped me up and walked me to the door I turned to face him I was standing out in the hall way and as I went to say thank you I got cut off by him slamming the door in my face. I walked slowly back to my room and closed the door behind me even though I got a door slammed in my face, and Austin still didn't figure out what he wanted from me I felt pretty confident about that talk with Austin I mean at least he let me in.

Austin had asked me for a ride to school, his ride which is Luke got into a accident and his car is wrecked. I drove me and Austin to school, and to say the car ride was awkward was an understatement. The school was only a fifteen minute ride from our house and it felt like forever. Once we got inside Austin walked by my side until he saw a group of his friends. I don't think I will ever understand how Austin, the ungrateful loser got to be the popular one and me the sweetheart is the one everyone hates! I don't think ill ever understand society.

The whole school day was a bore, when the last school bell rung everyone escaped I was standing at my locker when I heard a familiar voice and a not so familiar one. The familiar voice seemed to be calling my name, I turned back to see who It was. It was Austin and Luke . I had an idea why they were here they needed a ride home and I had to give it to them. Austin walked to me and Luke did the same, Austin put his hand on my shoulders and I let it go I was shocked at how hot Luke was, he had the biggest blue eyes, his lips were small and cute, and his hair was dark blond and messy. Austin, on the other hand, had big green eyes, big lips, and brown hair with blonde highlights though it, Justin was hands down the cuter one. "Lets go, we need to go to the mall, and we need you to take us." Austin smiled at me and I gave him a death glare. "Please?" Luke voice made me jump back making me hit the locker, his voice was so deep and manly. "Um, sure" I smiled, I mean I couldn't say no to him. He returned the smile and I walked to the parking lot, I was walking in the middle of the two most popular boys in school.
