Breakfast in bed

"Nyaaa!" I yawned and stretched myself like a cat. I looked around my room with my eyes still half closed. A strong sunlight met my eyes and I needed to blink a few times.

"W-why is it so bright?" I mumbled half asleep.

I looked to my left where Heisuke's room was. I slowly crawled out of my bed and pressed an ear to listen if he's awake.

~silence

"Hmmm, I probably overslept" I sat there with my arms crossed on my chest, thinking about what kind of punishment is awaiting for me.

Heisuke's P.O.V.

I woke up super early to make Risa breakfast. Since she is from another country she probably never tasted our food so I must make sure she will like it.

"Yoshaaa! Two onigiris done!" I smiled as I finally made two extra big rice balls.

"Now I only need to wake up Risa and..." I couldn't end my sentence cause I finally noticed Souji, standing between the door, smirking as usual.

"Ohayooo" I cheerfully greeted him, hoping he wouldn't notice the two onigiris I was holding in my hands.

"Ohayo Heisuke" he smirked and then pointed his finger at me.

"Why are you hidding those onigiris from me? I still haven't had breakfast so you probably don't mind sharing them" he laughed and then looked at me with a serious expression.

"Souji what exactly do you want from me?" I narrowed my eyes and intently looked into his's.

He smirked and turned his face at the floor, but then again looked straight into my eyes:" Then I will get straight to the point"

I nodded.

"Why are you helping Her?"

I sighed and smirked: "That's none of your bussines Souji"

"Then, If you excuse me" I bowed and walked out of the kitchen.

I stopped after a few metres and turned around to face Souji again.

"And the person you are calling "Her" has a name!" With these words I finally headed towards her room.

Soji's P.O.V.

"What's up with that guy anyway?! He wasn't himself since yeserday evening! Even drinking with him wasn't as fun as it used to be! Damn that woman!"

Risa's P.O.V.

I just finished cleaning up my room as someone knocked on the door.

"Haii?"

"It's me" I heard Heisuke's voice on the other side of the door.

"Come in!" I smiled and politely sat down.

"Ohayo Risa-chan!" he greeted me with a big smile on his face.

"Ohayo Heisuke-kun"

"What time is it? I'm sorry I overslept on the first day! When I woke up it was already late in the morning and I..." I kept apologizing and bowing my head.

"Wow, take it easy Ricchan. I'm off duty today and so are you since I'm responsible for you!" he smiled and ruffled my hair.

"Mmmh, ok and why Ricchan anyway " I mumbled and looked down hidding my bright red blush from him.

"Here, I brought you some breakfast"

He placed two rice balls in front of me and tilted his head like a puppy that's waiting for his owner to praise him.

"You made these two by yourself?"

He nodded.

"What are they called?" I picked one up and took a better look at it.

"They are called onigiri. They are made from rice, salt, plums..."

"And how do you eat them?" I interrupted him.

I was very, very hunry so I hoped I wouldn't need to use chopsticks.

"Ohh, just bite into them" he smiled.

Without a second thinking I began to eat rice balls that Heisuke made.

"Oishii" I purred with joy.

"I'm glad you like them!" he smiled "You look pretty hungry and that's what you got for declining your food yesterday" he scolded me with a soft chuckle.

"Sumimasen deshita" I apologised without looking at him.

The only thing I saw at that moment was that white onigiri ball in my hands.

"Anyway, tomorrow I need you to wake up earlier"

"When exactly?" I asked.

"Around 4.30 am" he calmly answered.

When  I realized I will have to get up that early I almost choked on my food.

"4.30!!!"

"Heisuke can you do me a favour and wake me up? I don't think I will be able to wake up that early" I awkwardly giggled.

"Sure!" he smiled.

"Why do we need to wake up that early anyway?"

"Well, it's not like we have to be up at that time everyday, but I just happened to meet Saito earlier and asked him if he can test your sword skills, so you can go on patrols with us! So make sure you pass his test Ricchan"

"I don't think I will be even able to walk so early in the morning, yet fight" I sighed.

After a few seconds I finally realized what he has said.

"Wait, wait wait! Who is that Saito we are talking about? What fight? Swords? Test?!!" I started to freak out.

"Hey, hey! Calm down Risa" he tried to comfort me, but without any success.

"I can't even hold sword, yet wield it"

"Of course you can! We all saw you fighting Hijikata-san and you almost got him and..."

"That wasn't me. It can't be. I don't remember ever wielding a sword. I'm scared. What if something..." my eyes began to water.

"Dekiru, I know for sure you will be able to do it!" Heisuke whispered in my ear.

He was probably to scared to hug me, since touching a woman that way in old times wasn't appropriate but, that doesn't count for me.

I hugged him tightly and cried on his shoulder. He burried his face in my yukata and whispered something. I don't exactly remember what it was but it souneded like "If you ever need to cry, save it for the time like this...when we are alone"
