Chapter 5: Mercy’s Broken Soul
At Kid's home~
"Mercy" Liz called peering inside of the room. Everything was pitch black, the only thing that told Liz that Mercy was actually there, was lump on the bed.
"Listen, I know that, everything seems a bit weird to you but, um..." Liz tried to find the right thing to say but nothing seemed right.
Mercy whispered "its fine" which was almost inaudible.
Liz nodded and shut the door but not before getting the creepiest chill run down her spine.
At the DWMA, Death's room~
"FATHER" Kid said almost breaking down the door.
Death quickly spun around and a sweatdrop appeared on his forehead.
"Kid, aren't your strips looking cute today?" Death said.
Kid stopped and blushed slightly "They're unsymmetrical" and ran his hand over the stripes.
"They're adorable" Death cooed.
A cough came from behind Kid; he turned to see Stein and Spirit behind him.
"Lord Death, I believe we had a meeting" Stein said, looking from Death to his mirror.
"Right!" Death said, "We did! Kid could you leave"
Death gently pushed him towards the door
"WAIT," Kid said angrily he hated how his father tried to change the subject like this Why didn't you tell the team about Mercy?"
"Huh?"Death froze, "What about Mercy?” his tone had drop several octaves.
Kid ignored this continuing his rant "How Mercy got her bandages, WHY SHE'S AT THE DWMA"
Death stared at him, trying his hardest not to reveal more than Kid might know. "Huh?"
Kid facepalmed.
The room suddenly, had long uncomfortable silence.
Kid muttered "You could have told us that Mercy's weapon was killed"
"Oh that," Death said, "You never asked, and I didn't think it was important"
"HOW IS THAT NOT IMPORTANT!!?”
"Why do you wish to know about Mercy?' Stein asked leaning forward in his chair. (Random chair, for the win)
Kid paused, why did he want to know about Mercy "B-because I know enough about the rest of the team and you just added her out of NOWHERE"
Stein pushed his glasses up”It would be impossible for them to team resonance, without them knowing about Mercy's past"
Death sighed "Well I guess, that's true"
"Mercy and her weapon Justice, we're going to make Justice a death scythe-"
"Justice was a Broadsword" Spirit said, interrupting Stein.
"Yes, he was," Stein said glaring at Spirit "They only had one soul left to collect, a witch's soul"
"The witch was disguised as a fortunate teller, for the Shadow Woods Circus" Spirit said interrupting him again.
"Mercy was able to corner and defeat the witch but..." Stein glaring at Spirit to silence him.
"Are you aware of the danger in the Shadow Woods Circus?" Death said looking questionably at Kid.
"It's that where the..." Kid stopped himself, it can't be, no one would ever do something so stupid.
"The New Kishin is hiding, Yes, Mercy learned the hard way, what it is like if you mess with the Kishin" Stein sighed, wiping his glasses,
"Mercy is lucky, she's even alive right now" Spirit said looking down.
Kid was at a loss for words, no wonder Mercy couldn't explain herself, and Kid felt a pang of guilt in his chest.
"Lord Death may we have our meeting now" Stein said.
"Kid, is that all' Death asked, Kid nodded and exited Death's room.
Spirit let out a sigh of relief, "That was close"
"Too close" Stein said.
“Mercy, you can come out now” Death said.
Behind him a gray-haired girl stuck her head out from behind the mirror.
“Is he gone?” she whispered looking around.
“Yes and you must follow that story, be sure not to change anything” Death said wagging his finger.
Mercy nodded, then bowed, “Thank you for your kindness, but, I have a question”
“What?” Death responded.
“Why did you lie to Kid about my past?” Mercy said, cocking her head slightly.
Stein sighed “Because if anyone else knew the truth, you would be killed or imprisoned”
Stein smirked “Isn’t that right Miss Kishin?”

Finally, summer vacation. For you people reading this its good news because I'll probably update more . YEAH for you I mean, this means I have to apply effort. So hopefully, I'll finsih by the end of summer
