The doctor comes in.
"She's about to come back in. Everyone has to leave the room and only two people in at a time." The doctor says. We all leave out the room. We established that Jack and I are going in first. A couple minutes later they wheel her back in on her hospital bed. Jack and I go in and shut the door. She looks beautiful. I just start crying and so does Jack. I walk over to her. I put my hand in hers and squeeze. I kiss her lips.
"I should of stayed home." I said.
"You couldn't of predicted this to happen." Jack says.
"But if I did jack. She wouldn't be here. Like this." I say.
"It's not your fault." Jack says. I sigh.
"When we went for our date, I had the ring in my pocket, waiting for the perfect moment to ask her. I got scared, Jack." I say looking at her. They cleaned her face up and the cuts on her arms.
"When she's out of here, go on vacation. Goto Hawaii or California. Ask her. She will say yes. She loves you to death Conor." Jack says.
"Your right." I say.
"I'm always." Jack jokes trying to lighten up the mood. I look at her arms and wrists.
"Wait, Jacob said he only cut her fore arm. Not her wrists." I say. Jack walks over and looks at her wrists.
"No, she wouldn't." Jack says.
Tears fall down my face.
"I can't believe I never noticed." I say.
"We need to keep an extra eye on her." Jack says.
"Yes." I say.
We let everyone else see her. I go back in alone. I hold her hand. I look at her promise ring.
"I'm sorry I broke the promise. I hate seeing you like this. I'll make it up to you, Samantha. I promise that." I say. I feel her squeeze my hand. She opens her eyes.
"Conor?" She asks.
"I'm here now baby. I'm here. Just sit there and relax." I say. I can't believe it.
"Where am I? Is he gone?" She asks.
"Your at the hospital. Your safe. He's gone now." I say. Tears fell down my face.
"I'm sorry. I tried staying strong." She says.
"It's okay baby girl. Don't apologize." I say. Jack walks in the room. His expression completely changed. He runs over and hugs her.
"Hi Jack." She says.
"Hello, love. " Jack says. Tears run down his face as well.
