Why do I Exist

Episode Eight

I sat in my Mustang looking through the online car catalogue trying to find Alex a new car. I looked up and noticed an armed robbery taking place so I turned on my blue lights on and climbed out drawing my Desert Eagle.

"Freeze!" I shouted.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

I ducked down behind my car as the rounds went flying. I looked back up a little and saw the furs getting away. I jumped back into my car and gave chase.

"Dispatch, this is Officer Casik. I am in pursuit of a fleeing armed robbery suspect. Tag number is T-E-8-9-S-F. I am requesting additional reinforcement" I called to dispatch.

"Copy that Officer Casik sending out heavy rollers Mike and Luca" dispatch replied.

I chased the car which was a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner onto the highway were the two heavy rolls would be at. We swerved in and out of traffic and in the distance I could see the twin black Chevy Suburban vehicles. As we gained ground I saw something fall of the Road Runner and go underneath my car. Next thing I know something blew the car head over tail and began rolling me.

As I came to a stop the Road Runner was smashed into a barrier and brought to a stop. Suddenly I smelt gas. I knew what that meant and I scrambled out of the vehicle. As I got ten feet away it exploded throwing me into the wall knocking me out.

Alex P.O.V

I was making lunch when I heard the news come with a breaking news segment. I watched and when I saw Casik's Mustang my food hit the floor. I watched as the chase got on the Highway. After what looked like a ten minute chase Casik's Mustang was launched into the air and crashed and rolled over. I held my paws over my muzzle and I held my breath. Then I saw Casik crawl out and begin running. But the car exploded throwing him into the wall. I turned off the TV and rushed to get ready.

I was walking out the door when three police Ford Crown Victoria's pulled up.

"Alex Irontail?" asked one of the police officers.

"Y-yes" I replied.

"Hope in. We'll take you to Casik."

I rushed over to the middle cruiser and we rushed to the hospital. We arrived and I was immediately taken to the ICU. I entered the room but immediately regret it. I saw Casik hooked up to different types of monitoring devices. I walked over to him and collapsed on his chest with tears in my eyes. I never wanted to be back in this place so soon.

"A-Alex... Is that you?" I heard Casik say.

"Yes babe. I'm right here" I said trying to get him awake.

"Baby, let me sleep a little bit. I promise it will take more than an exploding car to kill me."

I kissed him like he was going to war. I released our kiss and I curled up on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and I didn't know it but he fell asleep and I joined him in the world of dreams.
