Lacey was tired of cleaning at Grannys, she knew everyone maked fun of her when she wasnt listening. Her blue eyes, brown hair and accent were something she was sometimes ashamed of, people said that she was a womam all man would want to have. Lacey though that wasnt only disgusting but disrespectful. Ruby was her only friend, she had supported her in many things, she had helped her finding a job. Lacey didnt had much money and she wasnt good doing must of the things she was asked for but at least she tried. She always wished that the mayor would open the library again; that is all she ever wanted since she could remember, but working at the library was always a dream and just that. In her free time she re-read the books she had in her apartment but she always wanted more. She felt lost without books, she never had other purpouse but reading and keep her apartment. She hated her work clothes, she hated everytime she had to hear the doorbell, she hated the smell of the fried food, but despite of everything she was greatful that Ruby had offered her the job.
One day, while she was cleaning one of the tables, she heard the doorbell and for the first time she felt cuorius to see who was it. She turned her look to the door seeing a man with black suit and purple tie standing with a cane.
