You follow the dirt path leading to the small town you live on the outskirts of. The town having a population of about 600+ citizens. Nestled in the woods with a river flowing through the middle of the city. As you approach the city, you see children running around at the entrance as an elderly woman watches them. When the children notice your presence, they run over to you and dance around your feet, asking curiously how you are doing today and what you are doing.
"Leave her be." The elderly woman said with a stern look on her face. The children all booed and awed at her orders but were soon back to frolicking at the gate kicking cans. You give a close eyed smile to the woman and bowed as a 'thank you' for saving you from the children. Walking a few houses down, you stop at a house on the right and knock. Patiently waiting for an answer, a young woman opens the door.
"Oh y/n, please do come in." She exclaimed when she realized who you were. She headed to the back of the house where you followed into a child's small bedroom. The walls were bare, showing the wood paneling, and a single exposed light hung above illuminating the room as the curtains were closed. In bed laid a young boy who appeared to have a small fever due to his red cheeks and sweaty forehead. Bending down you open your satchel to take out an ailment for poisons such as for oak or ivy. You lift up his shirt to see his chest covered in a red rash with scratch marks lined with scabs. You stand back up and hand the ointment to the mother.
"Here, apply this three times a day and his fever along with the rash should disappear."
"Thank you so much." She bowed, walking to the doorway and leading you back to the entrance of the house. As you put your hand on the knob of the front door, the mother grabbed the back of your arm.
"Please, take this as a token of my appreciation." She held out what looked like a coin purse. You looked at it for a second.
"Don't worry about it, its fre-"
"No please take it!" The woman said determined. "I know it isn't much, I am a single mother, but the least I can do is provide this for all the help and company you've given me." She held it out with both of her hands and her head bowed. You sighed but accepted the coin purse. The woman looked up pleased with your decision.
"Just please let me know if you need anything else." And with that you left her with a small smile and a wave. Stepping back into the street, a merchant passes by with a cow loaded down with an assortment of bags and rolled rugs. Interested in what he was selling, he inquired he was just passing through to get to the village hidden in the sand. Disappointed in his lack of engagement, you continued on the path to the market. Approaching the market, it had a huge window on each side of the entrance with shutters and some planters. Going inside it was gray and white, with exceptional lighting and very clean. Walking to the produce section, you pick up some fruits and veggies, along with a few bottled waters. Placing the items on the counter, the owner immediately recognizes you.
"Oi, y/n!? How are you?" The cheery man said leaning his arms on the counter.
"Hayashi, I am doing well, just running errands in town. How are you doing?" Hayashi wasn't that much older than you, inheriting the shop from his late father. He wasn't going to let his father down by not continuing the business, and has excelled exceptionally since his passing. He was roughly 175cm tall, with a strong but slim build. He had light brown eyes, having side swiped bangs that tapered behind his ear (refer to image at top), and having a generally short haircut. He was a handsome cheery man that always seemed to amaze you. No matter what he was going through, he never wavered and stayed determined. He placed your items in two separate bags, and told you the total.
"I am doing very well, we just got new flowers in those planters over there. As you know we had fresh veggies growing there but they kept getting stolen." He said, handing you the groceries, not even frowning about his stolen goods. Instead he gave you a closed eye grin. Your hand brushes his when you grab your groceries, making you feel a tinge of embarrassment. You slightly blush, looking at your feet and thanking him.
"Say y/n, would you like to come join me at the noodle shop after I close tonight? They are having half price ramen tonight." He said blocking the entrance and leaning in the doorway. You look at him wide eyed, surprised he asked you. You avert your gaze to the shelves on your left, gathering your thoughts, and look back at him.
"Sure, it sounds like fun." You said finally, making Hayashi sign in relief.
"Few, I'm glad, how about we meet there at 6:30?" He said sticking a hand in his pocket, you nodded your head, rushing out of the store. With a slight blush dusted on your cheeks you rush out of town, trying to calm yourself. It's been awhile since you've been around anyone your age of the opposite sex. Finally collecting your thoughts and calming down, you reassure yourself that neither of you have feelings for the other. Walking along the dirt path you see two people approaching, who seem to be arguing. As you get closer you hear the girl say;
"Naruto, we have been traveling for a week now because you keep taking us to the wrong town!" The pink haired girl said. You had the sudden realization that this name was familiar. You met him a few months back when he was traveling with his sensei.
"Excuse me, but what are you two looking for?" As you get closer to them.
"We are looking for someon-"Naruto was cut off with Sakura pulling the picture out of his Jacket pocket, and holding it up to your face.
