Draco stood in the dark corner at king's Cross. His mother had forced him to return to Hogwarts stating that he needed to finish his education. Though he could tell the real reason was for him to tell his mate.
He couldn't get himself to move not with all the people around. He waited for the station to start emptying before leaving his secret spot and board the train. He carried his chest around the train looking for an empty compartment. He came to stop when he saw Blaise Zabini and Theodore Nott in a compartment.
He slid open the door and greeted his fellow Slytherins. The three had been close during their earlier years at Hogwarts. The two Slytherins weren't like Crabbe and Goyle they didn't follow him around like goons. But they were more like friends than Crabbe and Goyle could have ever been.
Blaise broke the silence. "something interesting happen this summer?" He asked. It was a question to get their mind of things that happened during the war.
" I got a girlfriend." Blaise started, encouraging the two talk. Draco and Theo stared at their friend eyebrows raised. They started to laugh.
"who's the unlucky girl?" Theo teased. Blaise faked a glared.
" Luna Lovegood." He proudly stated.
" Lovegood? Loony Lovegood? How did you manage to woo the Ravenclaw?" Draco asked. They were finally normal around each other.
" We share a common interest in creatures." He answered. Which caused the other two Slytherins to burst into another round of laughter.
" common interest in creatures? Hilarious." Draco laughed.
" Are you teasing me?" Came a dreamy voice.
The three friends almost shot up from their seats. Luna Lovegood stood at the door pouting at Draco.
" Sorry." He mumbled at the Ravenclaw.
Draco and the Ravenclaw had a forbidden friendship. They had been friends for years but Draco did not want the whole Hogwarts to know and Lovegood had agreed that. Though they teased each other a lot.
" How about you Theo? Got anything special to talk about?" Draco asked.
"no, not lucky enough." He shook his head and wiped an invisible tear from his cheek.
" What about you?" Luna asked.
Draco thought for a moment. He decided that he could trust his friends.
" I am a veela." He stated.
" What?!" Blaise choked on the chocolate frog he had been eating.
" No one else is allowed to know," Draco warned.
" Merlin. I asked for special, not life-changing." Blaise scowled.

Draco sat on his bed in the dorm he shared with Blaise, Theo and Goyle who had decided not to return.
It was after the feast and everyone had returned to their beds.
" Well I guess you start tomorrow?" Blaise asked.
" Yes," Draco replied.
