Draco could feel the soft mattress underneath him and the hand that run through his hair, without even opening his eyes he could tell who it was.

"Mother" he groaned out and tried to sit upright but gave up the idea as a sharp pain shot through his stomach.

"Don't force yourself Draco." his mother's stern voice spoke. She reached towards a small table and handed him a vile of pain relief potion. "Drink this, then the three of us have a lot to discuss." she said.

'Three?' Draco half expected his father to be there rather it was a tall blond man wearing an cheap looking suit that actually looked rather dashing on him. "hello." he greeted the man in front of him. The man stared at him not saying a word for few minutes.

"How are you feeling?" he said. Then stretched out his hand towards Draco. "I am Alexander Zinkoff." Draco shook his hand and told him that he felt much better having taken the potion.

"Mr. Zinkoff is here to help you through your transformation" his mother explained. Although her words did't quite reach Draco's brain. He just rose an eyebrow at her, a silent question he had yet to ask.

"Transformation? I am afraid that I don't understand what you mean mother." Draco said. His sudden illness, this man's presence and and his mother's words didn't make sense to him. Maybe he was still half asleep. The thought seemed much more appealing compared to the thought of him turning into some repulsive nocturnal creature.

"Draco dear please listen to me. I know I should have told you this earlier but so much going on that I couldn't gather the courage to tell you." she said trying her best to avoid eye contact with her son. He leaned forward and took the lady Malfoy's hand in his own.

"I understand but you'll have to be more clear." he spoke in the most comforting tone he could manage. His mother was the only one that could incite such a soft side of him. There was something about a mother's tears that could pierce through a son's heart.

"You are a veela." her words rang through his brain not quite settling down though. 'I must be dreaming' he thought.

"Veela? But if I am right neither you nor father are veela's" he said. Draco was officially having a bad day. he had never felt this stupid ever in his life not even when Granger deemed him speechless. Granger?

A very vivid image of the muggleborn appeared in his head. the brown eyed beauty smiled at him. Beauty? Draco groaned and let his head fall on the pillow.

"What's wrong?" asked Alexander a knowing smile gracing his face.

"Veela's have mate's." it sounded more like a question than a statement.

"Have you discovered your mate?" asked his mother smiling at him. Her smile was enough to tell Draco that she knew that he had found his mate.

"Arghh!" he scratched his head. "it's okay." Alexander consoled him

"You'll find her." his mother comforted.

"I already have. It's not about finding her, it's about telling her"

'Draco Malfoy, the Slytherin prince did not how to talk to a girl?' people would laugh at him.

But then again telling your childhood enemy that you're a veela and they are your mate was hard even for Draco Malfoy especially if the girl was The griffindor know-it-all.
