“Stop it”, Eunice said, glaring at her mum.

“She didn’t push me”, She said looking at me with a teary eye.

“Don’t do this”, I said to her.
“I have to”.

*_Flash back_*
*Eunice’s POV*
“Eunice please wake up”, I heard someone say.
“God please help her, I don’t want her to die”.
I didn’t understand what was going on till I opened my eyes.
It was Aria who was sitting and crying by me.
I tried touching her, but I couldn’t. So I just called her.
“Aria”.
She turned to face me and her face lightened up.
“Eunice!!” I thank God.
“Let me get the doctor”, she said rushing out.
The doctors came in and did their thing then he told her to wait outside so that I could rest.
“But she’s spent days resting”, 🙄😐Aria said glaring at him.
“Please let her stay”, I said smiling.
“Alright, the nurse will come and check up on you later”.
“Alright”.
Then he left.
“Eunice I’m so sorry, I should have been by your side to protect you. I shouldn’t have even let you go to the party. The person who pushed you is so cruel”.
“I jumped in myself”.

“What?”

“I jumped in Aria. I just wanted to die and leave this world”.
“Why Eunice?”

“I’m sick of this world. My mum expects me to get a first class in law and I keep trailing in my exams and test. She doesn’t even have time for me. Everyday, she’s asking me about studies and when we go out it’s either to her work place or a conference. But she has time for Eugene. I just feel like an object. My dad is always traveling. No one cares about my wellbeing and it hurts me. And then my ex. I’m not yet over him and I can’t forget all that he did to me. He cheated several times and I always spent my money on him and gave him my all, but he just kept on cheating and spending my money on girls. And now, I can’t get over him. I hurt everyday. I can’t even date again, all the guys that get close to me always want my money. My friends are with me because of money. Aria, you’re the only real friend that I have. At the party, I saw my ex making out with my ex best friend. I couldn’t stand it, and everything started replaying in my head, so I just got to the pool side and I jumped in”.
“And no one saw you?”

“I’m sure they did”.
“Hmm, Eunice, I didn’t know about all these. But that does not give you the right to take your own life. You’ll just give yourself a free passage to hell. Have you ever gotten close to a hot substance or burnt yourself mistakenly with a hot object before?”
“Yeah”.

“And it was really painful right?”
“Yeah”.

“So imagine being in the real fire itself and burning for eternity. Do you want to experience that?”
“No”.

“So please strive to be on earth and work out your salvation. I was wrong by trying to be a Christian and trying to be of the world. It doesn’t work like that. It’s either black or white. And God has given you another chance, so please make him proud”.
“Yeah, I will”.

“But what will we do about the cops? Your parents and the cops are bent on knowing the person who pushed you”.
“Hmm, if they find out that I did it myself, I’ll be imprisoned for attempted suicide. And my parent will be really hurt. Aria, I can’t face the world if everyone finds out that I attempted suicide. Everyone will look at me differently and I’ll be treated as a nutcase”, I said getting frustrated and tearing up.

“Eunice stop it. I’ll fix this. I even caused this. I should have listened to the message that I was receiving from my dream”, Aria said getting up.
“What are you going to do?”

“I’m going to tell Eugene that I pushed you”.
“No Aria, they’ll imprison you. And Eugene won't even believe you".
"He will. I'm a good actress. And my mum is a good lawyer. She'll get me out. Even If I go to jail, it'll be a nice punishment for being Gray".😒😒
"Aria don't", I said.
But she looked at me and stepped out.

My mum looked at me with shock.
