The bullet flew across the room and within a few seconds it pierced the flesh of the man's skin right where Rina had intended it to go.
The man released his grip from Jongin and fell to the ground with a thud. Rina stood there breathing heavily, dropped the gun to the floor and her eyes were glued to the blood that was oozing out from the man.
Jongin limped towards Rina gritting his teeth through the pain.
"Rina..." He called out to her.
Silence. That's all there was.
He continued to limp towards her and stopped in front of her but she didn't look at him.
"Rina, we need to get out of here. Now..." He reminded her but Rina didn't react.
Jongin grasped her chin softly turning her face away from the man she had just shot and looked into Rina's eyes which showed fear.
"Fear doesn't exist anywhere but in the mind..." He whispered to remind her.
Rina found herself reeled out of her thoughts as she stared into Jongin's brown eyes and his face. His eye was swollen badly along with a cut along his eyebrow and his cheek bone was starting to turn a shade of purple. His lips were yet again split badly and were cracked with blood spread along them.
Rina unconsciously brought her hand up towards Jongin's cheekbone where the bruise was forming and softly stroked it. Jongin flinched slightly and froze when her hand lay on his cheek bone and looked into her hazel eyes full with worry.
"I didn't hesitate..." Rina said very quietly.
Jongin was about to say something to her but the connection between HQ and them had restablished causing Rina and Jongin to jump apart from each other.
"You two get your damn asses out of there now!" The chief shouted angrily through the earpiece and they both gripped their ears in pain.
They both looked at each other for a moment and then ran out of the I.R.F hastily being careful not to get caught. Jongin had to ignore the pain he was feeling at his waist and keep up with Rina.
They escaped the HQ without getting caught and black car was waiting for them around the corner.
"Just a few more steps Jongin that's all" He repeated to himself as they ran to the car.
The car door opened automatically and both Rina and Jongin rushed inside of it and slumped down into the back seats.
Rina could hear Jongin breathing loudly and it didn't seem to die down as the car started moving. Rina looked at his chest rising and falling fast and decided to ask him even if he ended up giving her an arrogant answer.
"Jongin are you okay?"
He adjusted his position and waved his hand at her.
"Yeah I'm fine, just tired that's all." He simply answered her.
Just when Rina was about to ask him again he removed his hand from his waist and where he was also holding the pocket watch and handed it to Rina.
Rina was relieved to see the pocket watch which her last tie to her mother was but taken aback at how much blood Jongin had on his hand.
"Jongin are you bleeding somewhere?" She asked worriedly.
He didn't answer and was instead placing the pocket watch into Rina's hands and said
"Keep it safe next time... It's important to you."
He was moving his hands back towards his waist and Rina followed the movement and stopped his hands before it could reach his waist.
