(Y/N) POV

I drop my suitcase on the bed, examining my new room. It was quite spacey, and the bed was pretty soft. It was so surreal, was this really my new home? I was so used to my old routine, but a change of things is nice.

I heard a knock at my door, seeing my step father leaning on the doorway smiling at me, "Like the room?" I nodded, and he had sympathy in his eyes. "If you need anything," he rubbed the back of his neck, "just ask."

He walked out of the room, and I turned back to the bed, unzipping my backpack, feeling a smile forming on my lips. I started unpacking my things, not that I had too much.

*time skip cause author is lazy*

I sipped on my tea as my step mother set the table, I thanked her quietly as she set my plate in front of me. That was the first words I had spoken since I had been here, and she was beaming. I had just about no voice what so ever, so I rarely talked because of it. I didn't want to think about what caused it.

I blew on the hot food as the steam rolled from it. It was very good, the flavor just danced on my tongue and caught me swooning over every bite. Before I realized it I had finished dinner, and excused myself to put away my dirty dishes in the sink. After doing so I got ready for bed. Laying down in my pajamas, I look up at the ceiling in my dark room, contemplating.

Being alone was something I was always afraid of, which is why I never ran from father. No matter how much I wanted to. But now I'm afraid of being alone because I don't want to think about what he did. For so many years after she left..

He chased her away, but blamed it on me. So I was used as a punching bag, a servant, and a..

I stopped myself, feeling my chest getting heavy, beads of tears brimming my eyes. I wiped them away, sniffling, and I turned over so I faced the wall. I continued to think about my father. It was a hard night for me, I didn't get a lot of sleep; I was lost in my own thoughts.

I think my step parents noticed my drowsy stature in the morning, as I slouched and my eyes would threaten to shut if I wasn't keeping myself busy. I started drinking coffee, at my second cup I started to wake up finally. I asked if I could explore the city, they didn't mind.

My step mom went to grab something, and my dad just smiled at me before going to do his own thing. She came back with a box, and handed it to me. I let out a tiny "huh?" as i opened it. It was a phone, brand new. I looked up at her, my height surprisingly short, and she smiled at me. "You are apart of our family now (Y/N). And I can trust you with this, I know it."

I smiled and hugged her, which was kind of difficult since I had to get on my tippy toes. She hugged back, and we stood there for a moment. We pulled away and I started setting up my phone. Afterwards I put in my step moms phone number and she got mine.

She told me if I needed anything to just call her and she'd come get me. I smiled, I felt as if I could really trust her, it was a fuzzy feeling. Comforting, almost.

I set out, the city was certainly beautiful. I wandered around checking out the shops and such. I decided to cross the bridge, seeing a house atop a big hill. I thought it looked cool, so I wanted to check it out. I looked out at the water. It was so blue, I honestly had to stop for a second to process all of it in. I got to the other end of the bridge, walking down the road I noticed a large building with a crowd congesting the entrance.

I walked up, lingering outside the group as I didn't want to be a bother. Then I saw him, a blonde boy, green eyes. He looked defiantly across the crowd, before walking into the glass doors, pushing them open as he walked out of sight.

After some time the crowd dispersed, me with it, as I didn't like holding up places. I had checked out the ninja house, which was the building I saw.

I felt my phone buzz, slipping the phone from my pocket I checked it. It was a message from my step mom, asking me if I was ok.

I texted her back, telling her I was fine and having fun exploring. Then I put my phone back in my pocket and started walking home. I passed the building that had previously had a crowd and looked it over again. I realized it was an ice skating rink.

I had never skated before, nor watched someone. My curiosity got the better of me. I walked over to the glass doors, pushing them open. I walk to the front counter that is straight forward from the doors. A girl putting away skates notices me, "Oh I'm sorry, there's a private session going on, if you're interested in skating you'll have to come back later." She apologized. I tilted my head. "Was that why there was a crowd." I could barely manage a whisper. "Excuse me?" She asked. I gestured her over, and I repeated myself next to her ear so she could hear me. "Ah yes, that's what that was about."

She seemed to pause, looking at me. Studying me...

"Say, I've never seen you around here before, you new here?" She inquired, smiling at me.

"Yes, foster home." My voice was slightly strained, it was difficult to manage a whisper, even though I barely talk to begin with.

She frowned, "Aww what happened?"

I looked away, and she had realized she'd gotten a little too personal. "I-I'm sorry. Um... Do you wanna watch the skating with me?" I tilted my head again, "Me?" I lipped, not even making a noise this time. She nodded.

"C'mon!"

She left the counter, taking my hand and dragging me with her.

So this is the first chapter.

I know I suck at this writing thing, but I'm trying XD and I apologize for the shitty cliffhanger, but I'll TRY to make up for it. I promise.

Oh btw! You all can call me Benjamin! (It's my all-purpose oc, and she's a girl) It's nice to meet you all, and I hope you'll stay for the ride ;3
