We reach a room of sorts. It had a glass window looking out into the skating rink. What I saw was three males, seemingly practicing. What they were practicing and why was completely beyond me.

I mumbled into the girl's ear again. "Can you explain ice skating to me?" She turned to me and smiled, "Sure." After about ten minutes of explaining and a lot of pictures courtesy of her girls, I finally understood and I signaled them that they didn't need to go further. "By the way I'm Yuko." She held out her hand, it was amazing how she could change a subject so quickly. "(Y/N)." I took her hand, after a gentle squeeze we let go. My throat had begun to hurt, I really should try to talk less.

"Let's go watch on the side lines, the view is much better." Yuko chirped, taking my hand again, out into the rink we went.

She leaned against the short wall, and I copied her. The tallest man, with silver hair.. It could be debated whether he was old because of his hair or fairly young because of his face, he looked over at us. He smiled and waved. I shied my gaze downward, smiling as my cheeks grew warm in embarrassment.

They continued their routines. Though I wasn't too in tune with what was going on I thought it was pretty. I didn't know what the jumps were called. They looked hard, so why did these men make it look so easy?

Before I knew it they were taking a break, and the dark haired male approached us. "Hey Yuko," he turned to me. "Hi, I'm Katsuki Yuuri!" I smiled at him, I opened my mouth to tell him my name, but my words caught in my throat and I wheezed a little. I just touched my throat, signaling my voice was gone.

He smiled sympathetically, and started chatting with Yuko. Yuko told him my first name, so I was glad he knew what to address me by at least. The other two males approached as well. The silver haired male was much more playful and silly than I'd first expect. His physique said mature but his personality could resemble almost a child.

The blonde simply watched us, seemingly not caring about any conversation he was listening to. Suddenly, my phone rang, echoing across the rink. I blushed embarrassed, and hid my face a little as I reached for my phone. It was step mom, I hadn't read her most recent texts.

"Hi honey, are you alright?" She asked,
I hummed in response, lighthearted so she could tell I was just fine. "That's good, I want you home soon, I'm about to start dinner. Where are you right now?" I tried to answer, but my voice was failing me, I tried to get help from the others, but they didn't understand what I was asking. After playing solitaire for a solid two minutes at least, since my step mom kept saying, "Hello?" And she'd hear the chatter in the background. The blonde finally took my phone and said, "She's at the skating rink."

I flushed in embarrassment as he spoke momentarily to her. He handed the phone back and said, "You should be heading home."

I nodded and stiffly turned to leave. I put my phone in my pocket and started walking away. "Wait," The tall silver man called, I looked back at him. "We're not going to let a young lady walk home by herself are we?"

I tilted my head for the third time since I've been here. "I wouldn't want to, I mean she's too innocent to be out on those mean streets alone." Yuko purred. I looked down, of course I didn't mind them wanting to walk me home but they barely knew me.

I just followed their lead as the silver haired gentleman removed his skates and put on his casual shoes, same with Yuuri and the blonde male, and we set out. I didn't understand why all three were escorting me,

"Hey Yurio, you didn't need to come with us." Yuuri said.

"I don't mind, I didn't come because of you guys. In fact I thought it'd just be me walking her home. And that's not my name. It's Yuri."

Oh. Miscommunication. Made sense, I guess?

"So (Y/N) you're new here right?" Yuuri asked.

I nodded, looking back at them for a moment. As I was in front. I noticed Yurio avert his gaze, and I frowned in response. "That's a beautiful name." The silver haired man commented, "Viktor you're making her blush." Yuuri stated, elbowing the older man in the ribs.

Viktor laughed, "Sorry, sorry."

I smiled. I never really had friends when I lived with my dad, partly because I could never do anything with them. For me it was just school and home. Nothing else had mattered at that point. I'm a bit nervous around them, but the company is another change I'm going to have to get used to I guess.

"Hey.. (Y/N)?" Yuri had come up beside me while I was lost in thought, and I'd ignored his question. I looked at him, wondering what he had previously wanted.

"Uhm.. How did you lose your voice?"

I looked down. I didn't want to think about it. I didn't want to think about it... For a moment I wanted to tell him, but I barely know him. At the same time, it wasn't healthy to bottle up things.

I just shrugged, smiling innocently. His brows furrowed, obviously not completely convinced. But he seemed to shrug it off, after all it wasn't really his business. I continued on, the three following me. Soon enough I saw my parents house in distance. Huh, I just called them my parents.. I guess I was warming up to them. I usually called them step mom or such, but maybe I could be comfortable enough to call them... Mom and dad?

Soon enough we were in front of said house, and I waved to them. "Huh, she's living with the Seiiki's?" Yuuri asked, watching me go into the house. I didn't hear the rest of the conversation.

My parents smiled as I walked into the room. I sat down, and looked up at them with the same enthusiasm. Mom brought me the already finished dinner, and I blew on it for a moment until I saw them just watching me. I paused and squinted at them confused. "Who was that boy I heard on the phone?" Mom gushed, "Did you make a friend?" My dad asked.

I shrugged, and started eating my food. They seemed a little disappointed, but I guess that's what happens when your step child won't tell you things. I mean I think they already knew what happened before I came here. They had to, the agent who interviewed them had to give all available information of me, at least I think they did.

I shook the thought, and looked at my mom. "Mom..?" I barely managed a whisper, it hurt to speak, but I needed to make sure. "Yes honey?" She answered, her eyes shimmered at me calling her mom for the first time. "Do you both... Know what happened..?"

Another shitty cliffhanger XD

But I hope you at least semi-enjoyed this and id like some feedback on what I could do differently in my writing and what you'd like to see further into this story?
