Viktor's POV
We hear something crack and creak. Yuri and I stop mid routine. I stumble and Yuri falls, due to being in the middle of a jump. We both stumble to our feet to see what is going on. The music had been paused and everything went dead silent. "What's going on?" Yuri whispers to me. I shurg lightly and look around. I turn back around and see someone standing by the door. "How did you...get in? The doors are locked." Yuuko says. The guy just laughs and looks up. He has short brown hair and greenish eyes. He has light skin with young facial features. "That's none of your business." He says. He pulls out a gun and aims in the air. "Now get on the ground all of you!" He shoots off 2 bullets. He laughs as the kids start crying and everyone including Yuri and myself get on the ground. Yuri shivers against the ice and I pull him close to me. I can tell Yuri is scared. I try not to show my fear, for his sake and everyone elses. "You! Out on the ice with the white hair!" He yells. "Get up!" I look up and see that the gun is aimed right at me.

Nobody's POV
Viktor stands up. Yuri grabs his hand with tears running down his face. "Don't do this." He mouths to his coach. Viktor mouths "sorry" back to his student. Viktor stands up, realising himself from his students grip. The man with the gun walks closer to the ice. He tells Yuuko to get him some skates and she asks his shoe size. He tells her and she gets him some skates. He puts him on in haste. Minako slowly gets up and he points the gun at her. She puts her hands up and helps him with the skates. She goes back to her spot and gets back on the ground after tying the skates. The guy skates out on the ice and up to Viktor. He looks at Yuri and Yuri tries to appear unafraid but fails. His eyes are unfocused and his breathing is rapid. His vision gets blurry. He looks away and lays back down on the ice.

Viktor's POV
The guy aims the gun at my head. "Skate for me puppet." He commands in a harsh tone. I look at Yuri and tell him to play a song. He puts on "Agape" and skates back out. "Stay there!" He yells at Yuri. "He'll need his room." He looks back at me and gives me a crooked smile. As the music starts playing he jerks the gun to the left, telling me to skate. I start to skate Yurio's routine and continually take quick glances back at Yuri. I finish the routine when the song ends. "That was good. I thought you were finished skating?" The guy questions. I nod my head yes. "Yes. I thought I had lost my inspiration. After I saw a video of Yuri," I gesture towards him. "I found it again." The guy laughs and kicks Yuri. Yuri slides a little on the ice and starts coughing. "Yuri!" I yell out. I notice something wrong with him. He isn't moving. "Yuri get up!" I start to head over to him when I hear him yell stop. I freeze, almost falling. He looks up at me. "I'm alright." He says in a hushed voice, but still loud enough for me to hear even though we are still far apart. "Well, let me help you retire." I look at the guy and hear a gunshot. I feel dizzy and a stinging pain in my stomach. I try to gasp for air but it's not working. I fall to my knees and clench where the pain is. I look down and see blood dripping from my hands and down my stomach. I try to stay upright and conscious but the darkness is slowly creeping in. I hear yelling and screaming but it sounds so far away. The ringing in my ears gets louder every heartbeat. I feel someone pick me up and hold me. Is this...the...end. "Viktor! Viktor open your eyes!" Yuri cries. I hear maniacal laughter. I try to open my eyes and tell him that it's okay, but nothing but a whisper and a small sigh escape my mouth. "You son of a bitch!" I hear someone scream. I feel someone squeeze me closer to them. They hold me close and tightly as they rock back and forth crying. I can't help it anymore. I stop fighting and slowly, slowly, slowly let the darkness settle.

Nobody's POV
Viktor takes a deep breath then lies there motionless. The guy who had shot him is nowhere to be seen and the ambulance and police are on their way. -time skip- It's been 5 days since Viktor has been admitted to the hospital. His condition has gotten better but not by a lot. Yuri refuses to leave his side and the doctors have no other choice but to let him stay. Yuri has fallen into a major depression and has started to self-harm. Viktor's condition is currently worse than yesterday but doctors and nurses are trying everything they can to keep him alive. 'It's a miracle he is still alive.' 'I'm sorry sir but you need to leave the room.' 'What did the shooter look like?' Yuri's mind was flooded with thoughts from the past few days. Yuri couldn't remember what the guy looked like. He never got the chance. "Why Viktor? Why did you protect me? Why did you have to get shot?" Yuri puts his head in his hands and crys. Minako walks in and gently places a hand on Yuri's shoulder, causing him to jump. He turns and looks at her. She lightly smiles and pulls up a chair.

Yuri's POV
"How's he doing?" Minako worries. "Terrible. His pulse slows down at night, his heartbeat is unsteady, and he doesn't move at all." I sigh and try to blink back tears but they roll down my face despite my wishes. We sit in silence for what seems like forever. Minako gets up and excuses herself to use the bathroom. I sit in silence for another few mintues with nothing but myself and my thoughts. "Did I really lose you Viktor? Is this really it?" I look down at my cut up wrist. Ha! Attention whore! You're 26 years old. You shouldn't be doing this! I blink back tears as they sting my eyes.
-Time skip-
It's been almost a month now. The doctors finally said that Viktor is in stable enough condition to come back. Yuuko and Minako made me stay in the car while they check Viktor out. I turn on the radio to drown out the depressive thoughts that suddenly flood my thoughts. I start to get inpatient and decide to get out when I see Yuuko and Minako walk out with Viktor. I get out of the car and run up to them. Viktor smiles brightly and stumbles his way up to me. "Viktor! I'm so happy that you're coming back to me!" I exclaim happily. He grabs my wrists and I wince in pain. I quickly pull my arms away and turn my back to the three.

Nobody's POV
Yuuko and Minako exchange concered looks. Viktor walks in front of Yuri and gently grabs his arm. He turns his arm over and slides up Yuri's sleeve, revealing the old and new cuts on his wrists. "I thought I lost you..." Yuri explains quietly. Viktor pulls Yuri into a big hug. Yuri buries his face into Viktor's shoulder.

Viktor's POV
It's been almost a week since I came back. I feel terrible. My stomach hurts really bad and I'm constantly throwing up. Yuri is currently changing the trash bag. "Sorry." I say in a soft voice, hardly a whisper. "For what?" He replies. "All of this. You shouldn't have to do this." I try to sound more sorry for him than sick. He laughs quietly and turns to face me. "It's alright. I'm just happy that you're alive." He smiles at me. I smile back and sit up. He asks if I want anything to eat or drink and I tell him that water is just fine. He leaves the room leaving me to myself. I can't help but think of all the cuts on his arms. "Why? Was it really because of me? No. Couldn't be. I don't mean that much to him. Probably just other problems." I wonder to myself out loud. He walks back in and the optimistic look quickly left his face. "What's wrong?" I look up at him. I shake my head and tell him I'm just tired. "The doctors said that-" he cuts himself short. He hands me my water and tells me to just forget it.

Yuri's POV
I quickly leave the room and run into my room. Idiot! Don't bring that up! He already has enough on his mind! I flop down on my bed and bury my face into my pillow. Tears start to fall down my face. I feel this rip and a sharp pain. I give a small yell in pain. I look down at my left wrist and see the blood start to bead up. "Damn." I get up and grab a tissue off my bedside table. The blood soaks through and runs down my arm. I sigh and lay down on my bed, stomach facing up. The bleeding slows and eventually stops. I close my eyes and drift off to sleep.
