"Keiroshin!" her voiced was heard. He turned around and spotted Hanako smiling. The fields of flowers were wrapped around them as the two of them ran through while the sun lit up the crimson sky. He was feeling all sorts of emotions. As if this was always what he had wished for. Happiness. Life. Simple pleasures. Her.
"Here," Hanako reached out her hand. He looked down and without a second thought, he grabbed it. Right when their hands touched a wave of wind spread across the fields leaving them in the middle of dancing flower petals.
"Smile a bit Kei-kun," she chuckled. "You always look so angry."
Hearing those words, a smile formed at the lips of his.
"You're going to be late," her voice changed again. And right at the second, Kei's eyelids flew open. Peeking in from his door was Akiteru sighing.
"You've been waking up quite late," Akiteru mentioned before shutting the door. Kei sat up as his hand hovered over his chest. It was feeling empty. As though he was missing someone, but who?
"Not her...definitely not her..." He shook the dream away and prepared himself for school. Kei ate a light breakfast before heading out the door and towards Karasuno's front gates. On the way he met Tadashi and the two continued to school together. As he headed for his class, he saw her chatting with her friends. She spotted him staring and smiled. He quickly avoided her gaze and entered his class. Taking a seat at his desk, Kei couldn't help but feel his heart beating faster and faster as though he had ran 200 miles.
As the rest of the school day went by, Kei couldn't concentrate at all once again. He had so many unanswered questions and it was bugging him to the core. During lunch he avoided going out because he didn't want to cross paths with that girl. Kei was hesitant of feeling that weird fast pacing emotion.
Just as school was over that day, Kei headed towards to the gymnasium where he prepared himself along with his teammates for a practice game against another school. He used this time as a way to concentrate seriously without any distractions.
It wasn't long before they reached the front gates of Aoba Johsai, one of the powerhouse schools. The Karasuno team made their way into the school and soon enough a volleyball battle was about to start. Kei was doing his best to concentrate but he had forgotten that the two who always get on his nerves were his teammates.
"HINATA BOKE!" the first year setter shouted at the shorter orange hair male who only flinched. Kei watched as the two argued throughout the whole game. The team was doing well until the captain of Aoba Johsai was put in towards the end of the game. They went head to head and surprisingly, Karasuno took the win.
The way back home was filled with snores and silence. The usual loud team was tired from all the game play. As the bus parked in front of Karasuno's school grounds, the team members were awakened and each member exit the bus one by one.
"Ah! Kageyama-san!" Kei heard a familiar voice he had forgotten about. He suddenly felt his heart start beating faster. His eyes wondered and spotted the face he didn't want to see at all.
"Oh, you're still here," Tobio was quite shocked. She chuckled and nodded, "I forgot about your notes! You need them for the quiz tomorrow, remember?"
At that moment Tobio's eyes widened and he thanked her over and over again.
"The king can look at those notes over a million times and still manage to fail a simple quiz," Kei noted and tried not to laugh. Before Tobio can argue back, the captain of the team stepped in between them.
"Let's not make a fuss and get going home," he mentioned. The boys nodded their heads and parted ways. Kei and Tadashi headed off in a different direction while the others left in the opposite.
