"What would you like to eat today on your break?" he heard her voice come from beside him. His head turned to see her in a beautiful yellow kimono smiling brightly back at him. He was stunned for a moment before replying.
"S-Some dango would be nice," he turned his head to hide his red face. She chuckled and nodded as the two headed down the busy small market. They made it to a small restaurant and was about to enter when something caught his eyes. Down the alley between the two buildings, were a group of kids. He observed as four of the kids pushed one around.
"You're weak!"
"Stupid kid!"
He made his way into alley and towards the kid. They saw him coming and stopped bothering the one little boy. Afraid that something was going to happen the kids ran away.
"Pathetic," he mumbled before looking down at the little boy who was beaten.
"Are you okay?" she helped the little boy up and dusted off the dirt on him. The little boy slowly nodded and was about to run off when she held him.
"Are you hungry? Kei-kun here will buy you some dango to eat," she smiled at the boy. The boy denied that he was hungry but his stomach stated otherwise. She chuckled and nodded, "I'll take that as a yes."
She held the little boy's hand and looked up at him. He nodded and watched as the two walked ahead of him. She turned around with a smile and her mouth opened to say something, "Kei, you don't want to be late."
Kei's eyelids open and at the foot of his bed was Akiteru with his arms crossed.
"Are you secretly staying up late?" his older brother mentioned. Kei sat up and shook his head, "Practice have been draining me out that's all."
Akiteru wasn't convinced but nodded his head anyways.
"Well, school starts in about 10 minutes," he added before leaving the room. Kei's eyes shot opened hearing the time. He quickly prepared himself and grabbed breakfast before heading for school. The sun was shining that morning as he ran towards Karasuno.
"Tsukki- ah no, Tsukishima-san!"
His whole body stopped immediately when he heard his name. His head turned and at the end of the road was Hanae waving to him while catching up. He groaned and glared at her.
"Good morning!" she cheerfully greeted him when she reached the spot beside him. Kei looked at her bright expression and sighed, "I can't believe this..."
"I can't either!" she shouted and looked at her watch, "We're going to be late!"
Without another second to waste, her hand grabbed his wrist and he was dragged away. The tall blonde was trying hard not to stumbled as he ran with Hanae. Her short figure did it's best to run as her long hair danced with the wind. He could feel her warm hand wrapped around his wrist as they made their way towards school.
On the way they met up with Tadashi who was waiting like usual for Kei. Hanae greeted the worried freckled boy and grabbed his wrist with her other open hand.
"We're going to be late for school!" she shouted while dragging the two. Fortunately, they were all able to make it to Karasuno on time before the gates were shut. The three of them were all out of breath as they made their ways to change their shoes and head to class. Hanae finished first and bid the two goodbye as she head to her homeroom first. When her figure was out of sight, Tadashi turned to look at Kei. His face showed a tint of red as he shuffled to put his shoes away.
"Hanae was her name, right?" Tadashi asked. Kei nodded and left him behind while going to their homeroom.
