It was the seventh of July.

Rainy season.

The day I entered this family.

I didn't know I was adopted back then.

Not until they told me.

And even after knowing... nothing really changed.

Because they never treated me differently.

Not once.

We were fed.

Clothed.

Protected.

Loved.

Mom would always fix my wounds like they were the most important thing in the world.

Dad would ruffle my hair and tell me I did well—even when I didn't.

Catherine would act like she didn't care... but she always stayed close.

And Ate Czar...

She was different.

She was the one who made sure everything stayed together.

Even when no one asked her to.

She never complained.

Even when she was the last one to be taken care of.

Even when she was forgotten.

Sometimes, Mom and Dad would bring us new clothes.

Delicious food.

Warm blankets.

They would laugh with us.

Sit with us.

Take care of us.

And sometimes...

They forgot about her.

"Did you eat?" I once asked her.

She just smiled.

"I'm full."

She always said that.

I believed her.

Back then.
