                                                                                           Chapter #14

                                                                                            Chapter #15

My eyes opened in horror as they let in the sunshine and I observed my surroundings.  The sun was shining brightly .  “What is up with me and my freaky future-telling dreams?”  I wondered aloud.

Then, I felt something underneath me move.  I tensed, then remembered who it was, and relaxed, laughing to myself.  “Orion!  You scared me!”  I giggled, getting up off of him.

I got dressed into my other dress, and killed the fire with some of the water from the nearby creek. I poured a drink for myself also, pouring some of it onto my face to try to wake me up more.

Orion jumped in a zig-zag shape, back and forth, so much that he was making me dizzy, but he looked so happy that I let him be.  I guessed that he slept better than me, because I was exhausted.   My dream had scared me terribly, in fact, I was scared so much that when I woke up I found that I had been trying to get up and run away in my sleep!

I roasted the rest of the rabbit over the fire, because although the thought of eating the poor creature disgusted me, I was starving, and I did not want to waste all of the food that I had stored and that Kati had packed for me.

After I had finished my breakfast, I kicked ashes over our campfire and the disgusting remains of the rabbit so that if Mr. Marks, Jean, or some of the other masked men came here hunting me down, they would not know that I had ever been here.

Then, we started walking once again down the road towards the nearest city.  We kept to the sides of the road, so that just in case Jean caught up with us  we could hide from him.  I shivered just to think of meeting Jean again.  He was looking for us right now if my dreams had been correct.

The more that I thought of Jean the quicker that I walked, and soon I was  running at top speed.  Even Orion, a wolf raised to be quick, was panting to catch up to me.  When I heard him breathing so heavily, I slowed down.  I did not want Orion to be too exhausted before we had even made progress.

Then I suddenly heard hoofbeats, which was strange, because the road was made of dirt, and it was difficult to travel on and was usually only used by peasants.  I jumped down into the nearest ditch which where all along the road, pulling Orion down with me.

I heard the voice of Jean.  “Find her!  She has to be around here somewhere!  Turn this place upside-down if necessary!”  When I heard him say this, I knew that my dreams had been correct.

I heard men coming towards me, searching every bush carefully, searching only for me.  I knew I had to move if I had any desire to stay alive and uninjured.

As I was backing further into the bush, I heard Orion growl.  Not the growl that is loud, but the deep-down-in-your-throat kind of growl.  The kind of growl that dogs or wolves only growl when an enemy is close.  I spun around, expecting to see Jean or one of his masked men, but to my surprise, I saw a muscular man coming towards us, a golden light coming from behind him.

I screamed, and then I realized that that was possibly the most stupid thing that I could ever have done.  I clamped my mouth closed, squeaking at the insanity of what I had just done.  Now the man was getting closer, and the man was coming closer to me, and I could already hear the shouts of Jean’s men coming closer.  I was unsure as to what I should do.  The man was probably more safe  than Jean and his men.  Well, at least i hoped so, but as he was not out to kill me, I assumed that he would not attempt to before at least getting to know me.

He was absolutely gorgeous.  The man had short, cropped, jet black hair, and his piercing green eyes cut through me.  I was stunned by his looks, but I still couldn't bring myself to stop glancing over his body.  He had strong abs, and I am guessing that he had a six pack at least.

The Mystery Man, as I have now nicknamed him until I can find out his real name, opened his mouth to say something, but since I heard no sound coming from his mouth as his mouth was moving, I guessed that he was at a loss for words as well.

Finally, since I could tell that he was exasperated, he motioned to me with his hand to follow him towards the far back of the green shrubbery.  He placed his hand positively on it, and to my complete shock and utter surprise, it opened around Mystery Man’s hand.  The hidden door creaked slowly open, shaking off dead leaves as it opened.  The noise was so loud that I was sure that it would attract the men to us, but they still attempted to find me elsewhere.

My body was shaking because of how nervous I was in following this man.  I wondered if there could be a whole new civilization apart from the world that we knew about.  Well, it would not surprise me.  Maybe they were what caused earthquakes and such!

I had difficulty believing that this spectacular person was real.  My mouth was gaping, most likely drooling at his attractiveness.  I found myself staring at the man, even though he was completely unaware of my stares.

I was not quite sure as to whether I should follow Attract--- I mean, the Mystery Man, of course, duh, but, before I had a chance to react, Orion leapt through the gap.  Not desiring to lose my new pet, I cautiously followed after him into the hole in the shrub.  The Mystery Man waited until I had entered the room until he closed the shrub door once again with his hand, creaking closed with a loud noise, and darkness enclosed us.

There you go, hope you like it!  please fan/comment/vote, it would make me ultra happy...  And then you could have done your good deed of the day..... Except I'm sure helping an old woman cross the street would be a better thing to do.  So go out and help some old kind lady across the streets if you have nothing to do!
