So I had to write a small story 'to practice commas'. I'm in 10th grade and she's making us learn commas. Anyways, here it is.
January 29th, 2003, was a night Aura would never be able to forget. Aura was only 16 when the accident happened. She was sitting in the her living room watching her little brother, Alex. He was playing with his building blocks when the call came in. She got up and answered the phone expecting it to be her mom checking in, but she couldn't be more wrong. "Is this Aura Young?" The female on the line asked. "Yes, who is this?" Aura replied
"Ms. Young, I'm sorry to inform you but your parents got into a car accident." Everything seemed to freeze. My parents, the people who've tried to make me the happiest person ever, is hurt. "Are they alright?" I ask with urgency. "Your father just has a couple scrapes here and there, but he'll live." Oh thank god. "Your mom though, died on impact."
My mother, the woman who gave me life, is gone. After the call, I picked my brother up from the floor and got in the car. When I got to the hospital and their room number, I head in. My dad was clutching my moms pale, cold hand, crying. Just seeing my mothers body like this, it instantly hit me that this happened. That I will never be able to see her again or here her laugh. How could life be so cruel and take her away from us? My dad looked over and got up and hugged me. My three year old brother, confused of whats going on.
"We'll get through this, Ar. She wouldn't want us hurting. We will get through this." I instantly believed him.
I think my teacher probably hates me because all my essays are always depressing lol.
