Even after Clover got home, her cousin was still no where to be found. She even had to make some poor excuse to May about his absence. Clover didn't even know where Peter was, but she was covering for him. Never before had Peter been missing this many times in a day, sure missing dinner, both have done it plenty of times. Missing dinner, walking to and from school, never. Clover tried to remind herself of what Liz had told her, give him time. So she did, she kept making excuses for him. Even after Ben's funeral, Peter was still missing dinners, missing school, missing plans with Ned. Clover still didn't question because she felt he needed more time.

With all the time that Peter was missing, Clover spent more and more time with other people, Ned in particular. The two had begun to form a strong friendship, Liz would even join the two on occasion. As time went on, word also spread about New York's new superhero: Spiderman. The entire school buzzed about the masked vigilante. Girls wanted to meet him, guys wanted to be him and all Clover wanted was to have Peter talk with her, honestly. It had been a full month since Ben had died and Clover finally felt that she had given Peter enough time, now it was time to do things her way.

It was the eighth night in a row that Peter had missed dinner. May and Clover sit at their kitchen table, silently picking through their plate. The two usually talk about other things, trying to avoid the now common topic of where's Peter? However, tonight they don't even try, neither May or Clover have answers to where the boy is off to, Clover has stopped trying to make excuses. With all his absences, Clover has run out of excuses and can't be bothered to come up with any new ones. After dinner, they clean the dishes and May heads off to begin yet another night shift at the hospital. This leaves Clover to her own devices in the apartment. Binge watching about four episodes of The OA is still no comfort to her.

"Where are you Peter?" she ponders out loud.

Pausing her show, Clover reaches over to the table and grabs her phone. Pressing on find my iPhone, she scrolls down to Peter's contact name and taps on it. Immediately, a map pops up and shows Peter's phone, just ten blocks away. Glancing at the clock, 9:45 she gets up from the couch, grabs her jean jacket, slips on her boots and stalks into the night.

Following the map on her phone, Clover continues her mission to find Peter. She's  had about enough of his sneaking about and it's time to let him know that. Despite the countless times she has told Peter that she worries, she's never had a full conversation with him about it. Clover turns a corner and she can tell that this isn't the nice part of Queens. Spots of flaming orange, marks where people gather to smoke on corners. Coughs and slurred speech is heard in the distance, shouting from nearby apartments and the sound of a dog barking rings through Clover's ears. She stays vigilante, fearing the worst about why Peter might be in this part of town. Drugs. Gangs. Drinking.
