After a few weeks of living wit the Avengers and earning there trust finally paid off. One morning as Lokia was getting up she heard Loki contact her telepathically. I’m going to attack today in about five minutes. Be ready to attack, at first act like you’re on their side then as the mortals say ‘stab them in the back’. Loki broke the connection and Lokia got ready and left to go meet everyone in the lab. When she got there she saw them arguing about something.
“What’s going on?” Lokia asked as she came through the door.
“We’re picking up Loki’s signal on our radar and we can’t decide if we should let him come to us or let Thor and Tony handle this.” Bruce told her.
“I think we should wait here. We don’t know how many people he brought to fight for him.” Steve announced.
“How do we know he’s not coming by himself?” Tony retorted.
“My brother would never be stupid enough to attack us on his own.” Thor thundered.
“Hey calm down. We don’t want Bruce to get to worked up.” Kate said trying to make them stop fighting.
“Will you all shut up and listen.” Lokia yelled after Kate failed to make them stop. “Instead of standing around arguing why don’t you all get suited up and prepare for Loki’s attack. I mean it wont do you any good if he comes and your not prepared.”
“She’s right, come on lets get ready.” Hawkeye said as he went to get his bow and arrows.
Once they were all ready they met up at the control room. When they saw Lokia standing there in her armor they hesitated before they realized who it was. There was a loud explosion from the right side of the helicarrier and they all ran in that direction. When they got there they saw some sort of creatures that had pale skin and purple eyes.
“What are they?” Kate asked in disgust.
“I think they’re shape shifters that live on one of the nine worlds.” Thor said. “They turn into your worst fears.”
The Avengers tried to keep their fighting in this part of the helicarrier but there were so many of them that they started to spread out.
“Tony fly to the engine room and make sure they don’t disable the rotors, Hawkeye and Natasha I want you to check the hallways and control room, Thor make sure they stay clear of where Bruce is, we don’t want him to hulk out in the ship, Kate go around and help who ever needs it, Lokia you and I are staying here to help hold them off.” Steve commanded over the noise of battle.
They all ran to their assigned positions and then started to fight again. Lokia stopped fighting the shape shifters and walked up to Steve.
“What are you doing these things are still coming.” Steve yelled at her.
“Good for them. Unfortunately for you this is where you die.” Lokia smirked and used her scepter to stab him through the stomach.
Steve groaned in pain and tried to contact the others but Lokia drove the scepter through his body then crushed his communicator before pulling it back out. He fell to the floor holding his stomach and Lokia left to find Loki. When she found him he was fighting his brother. Thor was winning but they were getting close to where Bruce was trying to stay calm, Lokia became invisible and walked past their battle and into the room with Bruce.
“Lokia what are you doing here? I thought you were with Steve.” Bruce questioned.
“Steve’s dead, the enemy is getting past our defenses, and the control room is about to be taken. We need to evacuate.” Lokia told him.
There was a loud bang as someone was thrown into the wall outside the room and Bruce started to turn green. Lokia disappeared out of the room and into the control room. The shape shifters had disabled to of the engines before Tony had stopped them.
“Lokia what are you doing here? I’ve got this under control.” Tony told her.
“Steve’s dead, and Loki has unleashed the hulk.” Lokia lied to him.
“But I thought Thor was guarding him.” Tony said.
“Loki hurt him long enough to make Bruce angry and turn into the Hulk.” Lokia said, a roar sounded to backup her statement.
Tony contacted the others and they all went to Bruce’s location. On the way Lokia slipped away and found Loki crumpled on the ground outside the door that Bruce had been hiding behind. When he saw her he got up and dusted himself off.
“Do they know you betrayed them?” Loki asked her.
“No, they think you unleashed the Hulk and that Steve was killed by a shape shifter. Of course when they see the wound in his abdomen they’ll realize it was ether you or me.” Lokia reported.
“Lets go then while they’re still occupied with helping their friend.” Loki said as they teleported.
Kate turned and saw the Hulk smashing everything in sight and saw the others trying to stop him. They had it handled so she went to find Steve, when she got to were they had first started fighting she saw him laying in a pool of blood and barely conscious. She checked his wound and saw that he had been stabbed, probably by Loki, she thought before carefully carrying him to the lab. After Bruce calmed down he cleaned and bandaged Steve’s stomach.
“So will he be okay?” Kate asked worried.
“I don’t know he’s lost a lot of blood.” Bruce told her grimly.
“Do you know who did this to him?” Hawkeye asked to everyone.
“Lokia came to me and told me he was dead. But she might know who did this.” Tony said.
“Speaking of Lokia, where is she?” Natasha asked looking around.
“I haven’t seen her since we went to calm Bruce down.” Tony said.
“You don’t think my brother took her again, do you?” Thor asked worried.
“This is weird. She tells us Steve is dead when he is just really hurt, she came to me and said that the shape shifters where getting past our defenses and that the control room was going to be taken. Then I heard someone slam into the wall outside the room and lost control.” Bruce told them.
“That’s strange she told me that Loki got past Thor long enough to make you mad and lose control.” Tony stated.
“You don’t think she betrayed us do you?” Kate whimpered.
“It looks that way but we wont be completely sure until Steve wakes up and tells us.” Natasha said bitterly.
