skipping school

"PARTY TONIGHT AT FINNICKS!!" I hear someone yell as they rush down the hallway. I couldn't care less, but its at Fins, so that means Annie is going to force me into going.

Peeta and I walk down the hall, hand in hand. He leans down and kisses me softly. I smile into the kiss. Just then I hear a whistle and remember we are at school. We pull apart and I blush when I notice the people staring, where Peeta just chuckles and pulls me away. I cant help but notice all the girls give me the evil eye.

It starts to rain outside, and I wish I was out there, not stuck in school.

The bell pulls me out of my thoughts, and I groan.

"Don't want to go to class?" Peeta says, questioning my groan.

I nod. "want to skip?" I whisper to him.

His lips pull up into a smile, "sure" He whispers before I pull him outside.

"Katniss!" he laughs. "Its raining!"

"that's the point silly" I say with a smirk and run onto the field, the rain pouring down around me.

We laugh and run around, getting soaked.

I run the opposite direction of him, and when I'm far enough away, I yell; "PEETA!"

"WHAT!" He yells back laughing.

"GUESS WHAT?!"

"WHAT?" he yells.

"COME HERE ITS A SECRET!" I say launching. He runs over to me and wraps his arms around my waist.

"what?" he asks, his sparkling blue eyes filled with wonder.

I put my hands behind his neck and pull him close to me.

"I love you" I whisper.

He grins. "And I love you, miss Katniss" he smirks before his lips land on mine.

Even through the rain, I feel his warm inviting lips. My hands run through his wet hair, as he pulls me closer. My legs hitch up around his waist, and he pushes me against a nearby tree.

I love you Peeta Mellark.

Eventually we both break the kiss for air.

It's weird, it's pouring rain, yet it's not cold out. In a way, it makes sense, it is summertime after all.

Suddenly I get a idea. "Peeta come with me!" I say excitedly.

He chuckles "OK".

I jump down from his arms and grab his hand, pulling him in the direction of the woods. We walk through the woods for a bit, as I look for the place I found. Soon enough, we come across it. It's a small lake type thing. It's not big enough to be a lake, but not small enough to be a pond. "Lets go swimming!" I cheer and run towards the edge of the water.

It's only when I get there I notice Peeta didn't follow.

"come on Peety" I joke.

"um, uh.." he stutters out and slowly follows me.

"what's wrong babe?" I ask him.

"Don't judge if I tell you ok"

"I would never judge you" I smile.

He sighs, "I don't know how to swim" he says shyly to his feet.

"What?! Really? why not?" I question taken aback.

He shrugs "Never learned"

"Well I can teach you!" I say and pull him forward. He smiles and follows.
