Luhan held the piece of paper as he looked at it blankly. The unique ZYX logo on top made it very noticeable on which company just send in the letter. Yixing's company had officially terminated the contract he had with them and Luhan was more than glad to help him before. It was a good thing he was done with the layouts of the coffee shop before this crazy idea of his kicked in.

"You work as an interior designer for Yixing's cafe before. It was your first project -- a very big one too since the Zhang's are very well known worldwide. Their only son, Yixing is your friend." Mrs Lu sat beside him and ruffled his hair, a broad smile on her thin lips.

Luhan could only nod when his mum spoke up about his 'past'. He did remember everything, after all, the memories never fade away.

"You probably won't remember it now, but don't worry, Han. You will soon." His mum gently caressed his hand.

The doorbell dinged and one of the maids came running to the intercom asking who it was. Mrs Lu then stood up to take a look too out of curiosity because it was already late in the evening, leaving her son alone in the living room. Who might be visiting at this hour?

"Luhan... Kai's here! He's a close friend of yours." At his mother's sudden information, Luhan abruptly left the living room, bolting to his room upstairs, closing it with a loud bang and clicking its lock.

He wasn't ready... The thought of meeting his friend face to face this soon never crossed his mind. The anger didn't seem to fade away yet, he was a normal human being after all. Who would've thought the answer he was going after for so long before was right beside him? Out of all the person he trusted the most, the closest betrayed him.

Luhan crossed his arms and sat on the veranda, eyes darting to the darkening sky as the birds chirped back home. How long had he been suffering? If he knew that this was how his life was going to end up being, he would stop his heart for falling for the guy named Oh Sehun -- who was too far out of his reach.

"Luhan, please open the door. Kai is here to visit you..." The never-ending knocks on his door and his mother's calling left him in an uncomfortable state. Should he pretend to be asleep?

Mrs Lu's soft pleading sent a zap of guilty to his being. But he was sure, Kai was also standing at the other side of the door and meeting Kai didn't really sound too pleasing for him. If he was one to act without thinking, it wouldn't be long before he shouted for him to go away.

But it was risky, he couldn't risk if his mother started smelling something suspicious. With a heavy sigh and a slight stomp to his step, he opened the door; his guess turning correct as his eyes met Kai's unreadable ones. Was it guilt that I saw? You should be. Luhan thought, the urge to tilt his lips very strong but he covered it with a loud cough.

"And who might you be?"

"I'm Kai, don't you recognise me, Lu?" Kai asked with a hopeful voice and stared down in defeat when Luhan mindlessly shook his head. "I'm here... to apologise, Luhan." He continued, not once bringing his head up.
