Somewhere, in the dark of the night, at Number 12 Grimmarld Place, stood a man in a dark cloak, blending in with surroundings quiet tremendously. He watched as a man with a scar on his forehead stepped out from the house and began making his way toward him. The man had just sent his sons off for another great year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. Now, it was Christmas time and they had returned, along with several of their aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Potter - Weasley family was a rather large family. Harry had indeed not expected any other visits, especially not at this hour and especially not from this particular man.
"What're you doing here, Malfoy?" asked Potter.
"Did your sons tell you about the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher?"
"Yes. What about him? Why do you care?"
"Because he's not our kind of half blood!" Harry stared at him, suspicious.
"He's from..." Malfoy looked around, as if afraid of being watched. "America." As he said it, Harry felt a cold chill run about his spine. There were several rumors about the half bloods in America, none of them being very pleasant. Nonetheless, Harry stood up straighter now."Well," said Harry. "Then, I suppose the Aurors could look into it..." Malfoy nodded slowly, as if deep in thought. Why was he here? Why was he telling Potter this? Suddenly the door swung open abruptly.
"Harry!" said Ginny, as the young woman made her way over to the two man. "Harry this just came by owl! Here Read this."Harry took the letter from his wife and read it aloud. It read :
They have gone west and faced the god who has turned
They have found what was stolen and seen it safely returned
He has been betrayed by one who called him friend
And has failed to safe what matters most in the end.She has sailed the with warriors of bone
Found what they sought and made it her own
But despair for her life entombed within stone,
And fail without friends, to fly home alone.Five have went west to the goddess in chains
One was lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus showed the trail.
Campers and Hunters combined prevail,
The Titians Curse one must withstand,
And one has perished by a parents hand. They have delved in the darkness of the endless maze,
The dead, the traitor, and the lost one raise.
He has rose or fell from the ghost king's hand
The Child of Athena's final stand.
Destroy with a hero's final breath,
And lost a love worse than death.A half blood of the eldest gods,
Has reached sixteen against all odds.
And seen the world in endless sleep
The hero's soul, cursed blade has reaped,
A single choice has ended his days,
Olympus to preserve or raze.Child of lightning beware the Earth,
The giants' revenge the seven Birth
The forge and dove have broke the cage
And death unleashed through Hera's rage.Wisdom's daughter walked alone,
The Mark of Athena burned through Rome.
Twins snuffed out the angel's breath
Who holds the key to endless death.
Giant's bane stood gold and pale
Won through pain from a woven jail.
Seven half blood have answered the call
To storm or fire the world has fell
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bared arms at the Doors of Death.Harry looked up and stared at his wife.
"There's more on the back," she told him. Harry flipped the parchment over and began to read once more, though this time it wasn't quiet as much.Brace yourselves.
Poseidon, god of the seas.
Again, Harry stared at his wife.
"Hermione, says that's from some muggle myths or something," she said. Harry nodded.
"It's probably just a prank or something," said Harry. "Nothing to worry about. Besides, it's all in pass tense."
"I don't know, Harry...It seems so real."
"It'll be alright, Ginny. They're only myths." At this lightning struck down from the sky, as if directed at Harry. However, he quickly jumped back, falling flat on his bum.Malfoy seemed to be holding back laughter. Ginny as well, despite her worries.
"Careful, Potter," Joked Malfoy." Wouldn't want to ' anger the gods' now would we?" Harry rolled his eyes and began to pick himself up, dusted off his robes.
"Blimey, the weather has been so strange lately," said Harry. Malfoy cleared his throat awkwardly.
"Yes...well..." he began, but just then to muggle teenagers ran by, cutting him short."Sorry!" one of them called back, as the nearly nocked Harry on his bum again. Malfoy didn't say anything, though he had a vague feeling that the letter had something to do with the American half blood, as it had clearly stated that word numerous times within it, the letter. He didn't know that Harry Potter was having the exact same thoughts, and was only denying it as to consul his wife.
After a long painfully awkward silence Ginny finally spoke, directing the question at Malfoy. "Would you like to come in?" she asked, though she already knew the answer, and it was mostly an empty gesture anyway. Malfoy shook his head.
"I should be getting back to my own family," he said.
"Alright," said Ginny evenly.
"Well, goodbye then," said Harry and reached out his hand. Malfoy stared at him for a minute. Then, took Potter's hand and the two men shook hands.Looking around, making sure no more muggles were about, Malfoy disappeared. Ginny took Harry's hand and together they made their way back into Number 12 Grimmarld place. And for the rest of the night, even though he had a splendid time with his family, Harry had two things on his mind. Why had Malfoy come to share his thoughts about the Hogwarts professor tonight? And then there was the letter. What had that meant? How could it have been from the Poseidon when he was just a myth? Then, Harry thought of the lightning. When he had stated that the letter was just a joke he, Harry, had almost been hit by the lightning....almost on purpose...
No, Harry decided. They're just myths. That was a coincidence.
