As the orange rift came into view, The Lavendar's power shut off. Tages went into a frantic as a blinding white light shone in his eyes. Tages rose his hand to cover his eyes when the ship's power core blew up. The ship was falling into an uncharted planet as Tages passed out.

~~~
When Tages woke up, he heard gunfire around him. His vision swam when he tried to get up. When he finally got standing, he looked around for the The Lavendar. A burly man in quantum armor came up to him and pushed him down behind a pile of rocks. Tages grunted in pain as he fell five feet down, and the burly man came soaring over the rocks and landed in a cloud of dust on the earthy ground. He pressed a button on his helmet and the visor rose up. Tages recoiled as he saw the features of his face. His left eye was pure white, with a freshly cut scar across from his forehead to his chin. He had darker skin, and a beard stretching down.
"Don't worry. My name is Corono. I am here to help you."
Corono press a button on his chest. A duplicate set of armor dropped to the ground. Corono helped put the armor on Tages and gave him a quantum rifle.
Tages struggled to stand up when the quantum core in his armor powered on. Tages had a surge of newfound energy and he stood up faster then he ever could.
"Thanks, Corono, but I have to find my ship. Where is it? Did it crash when we entered the Akuron?"
"No, but when we saw it speeding towards us, we sent our Archangel troop to get you out and transport it to it's home bay," Corono speedily replied.
Tages felt miserable. He wouldn't get his craft back until he could go back there.
"HIT THE DECK!"
A glowing green sphere was speeding towards them as another man boosted over the rocks and pushed the two of them down. A giant, deafening, green explosion happened right above Tages and Corono, and Mechs came flooding through the pathway by the rocks. Tages twisted the dial on his rifle and shot the front two. He got up and ran behind one of the fallen rocks. Corono got up and rapid fired into the giant crowd of robots. Tages felt a tingling sensation as a hexagonal shape came into view on his arm display. Power up, it said. It showed a man in a red suit speeding around. Tages pressed the shape and his hand started shaking violently. He ran over to the Mechs, but he was faster than everything around him. As he ran, green lighting formed around him. He tried to grasp it as he was running and threw it. All of the Mechs exploded when he released the lightning.
Tages gasped as Corono ran forward and ripped the head off of a Mech that was about to stab Tages in the back. Tages turned around and whipped Corono right in the face with the butt of his gun.
"Corono! Sorry!"
Corono had blood streaming down his face. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"
Corono raised his rifle as 15 other soldiers came around the little dip in the ground and raised their rifles at Tages. Corono dropped his rifle and took out a revolver.
"I haven't used this in a long time," he said as he turned the bullet gun over in his hands.
One of the soldiers violently pulled Tages' helmet off, and Corono pulled the hammer back. Tages was sweating with anxiety.
"3."
"2."
"1"
Corono fired at Tages' head, but a loud screeching sound made Corono fire up. Tages seized the moment as he selected a new power up on his arm. He jumped 15 feet in the air and slammed down with as much force as a boulder hitting the ground, straight from a mountaintop. A ginormous eagle flew down and ripped his body to shreds, as Tages took out the other soldiers. The eagle pulled Tages in with it's wings and flew to the top of a cliff. A huge canyon spread across the rocky plain. The eagle dropped Tages into the canyon. Help, Tages thought as he flew to the bottom.
