(Levi's POV)
"That room's off limits." I scolded Hanji as she tried sneaking into Eren's room. He needed rest, and if Hanji was in there; there was no way he would get any rest. She sighed in complaint.
"But I need to ask him about your laugh!" She added.
"What's so interesting about that?" Since I had allowed myself to laugh in front of the kid I have regretted it. He made too big of a deal about it. Sure, I don't laugh often, but it's not like I never laugh.
"Well, maybe the fact that you haven't laughed in years. Now all of a sudden you meet Eren and he makes you laugh. It's a miracle. He really is a miracle child." Hanji chirped.
"That's one way to put it." I scoffed. I distinctly heard Hanji clear her throat and looked at Eyebrows with an unamused look. He looked like he was about to enjoy the next ten minutes.
"So Levi." She started. "When do you plan to ask him out?" By now she was right up in my face. I simply pushed her away, but that wasn't going to be the end of this.
"Never." I answered. This was the last thing I wanted to be doing right now. Eren is only a few feet away from us and can probably hear every word we're saying.
"I sense a lie. Everyone knows you like him, so just admit it!"
"Who's everyone?" I raised an eyebrow in feigned interest.
"Well, Me, Erwin, Eren. Everyone." She smiled widely. To the point anyone who knew her, or not, would think she's crazy. Which is an understatement.
"That's only two people; when you put into acount that it is only a delusion you and Erwin have fallen for."
"Not true!" Hanji defended. "I'll get you to admit it eventually." I rolled my eyes at her threat. "But more importantly, what are we going to do about those demons that want Eren. And the angels, they don't seem like a big problem right now, but who knows what they are planning."
"Demons are simple. Angels, I don't know. We know a few people who have dealt with them before, but you know there is no way we can hurt them. I don't even know how Eren was able to kill two of them." I answered.
"I think we should help Eren learn how to properly use his powers." Erwin spoke up finally.
"And risk him losing control? I'd rather him not use his powers from now on."
"If we can teach him then we don't have to worry about him losing control." Erwin countered.
"Or we have to worry about it more." I defended. This wasn't what I wanted to do. It was like messing with a time bomb and not knowing which wire deactivated it or set it off.
"Levi! You know we can't just force his powers back again. The cat's out of the bag, so we might as well do something good with it." Hanji added, two against one. I won't win this, will I?
"Fine, but I'm going to say I told you so if things go wrong."
"Fair enough." Hanji said with a laugh.
~ ~ ~
Eren was out for almost a complete twenty-four hours. I had been watching him for some time to make sure Hanji didn't mess with him in his sleep. The only good thing about having to watch over the Brat was that I had time to read, not just for information on the angels or demons we needed to be on the lookout for. I was able to read a book I hadn't touched in years. It was something I picked up from a hunt, and it had caught my attention enough I didn't give it up.
"Boom! I win!" Hanji shouted. I could only assume that outburst was about some stupid game the two in the other room were playing. That caught my attention long enough that I missed the streaks of blood starting to form from Eren's eyes. When I looked back it looked like he was crying blood in his sleep.
