Her love hit me like a silver bullet,
She told me she always lived her life to the fullest.
The gun she shot me with ended with a bang!
When our hearts beat together it sang with a pang;
The hole she created opened my heart,
But it seemed my bleeding love only tore us apart,
And as we lay in the tall green grass,
I realized her heart was made of glass;
The smile she wore hid her broken soul,
It kept me from seeing the black hole,
That was created by the one that came before,
Because she kept her heart locked behind a closed door;
When she left me I tried to find another,
It seemed her words came in one ear and out the other.
For I fought a good fight against her might,
And I tried to get her to see the light;
One day she decided to return,
And once again I could feel the burn,
So we had to go all the way to the start,
When her love first shot me in the heart.
