The girl in the Hugh Mungus video was not in the wrong. Hear me out.

Yes, what happened in the video was what could be called by society an "overreaction". But it doesn't mean she's a "tr*ggered libt*rd femin*zi lmaoooo!!!" It isn't an excuse to dismiss feminists, or, God forbid, women, as "crying wolf" about sexual harassment, assault, and rape.

"Hugh Mungus" is not just a "dad joke". Not in the way that man used it. Anyone watching the video knows that he said it to this lady (he didn't say it as a general statement, he said it to this lady) as a statement about his genital size. So let's just get that out of the way.

I would consider such unprovoked, unwanted personal information to be akin to harassment. Maybe not assault, as the girl in the video said, but harassment, indeed.

That being said, there's a lot we don't know about the girl in the video. Many people react to many things in different ways based on their personal experiences. That's the basis of literature (which, if you're on Wattpad, you should know about), and it's also why some groups can be offended by slurs and statements while others may think it's fine.

For all we know, this girl could've been harassed or assaulted in the past. Hell, she could've just had a bad day.

Either way, though? There's no reason for the internet to treat this girl so badly. She's gonna have to live with both the harassment from the man AND harassment from the internet (including rape threats and death threats, I've seen) for the sake of a joke, when she wasn't in the wrong. It's not really fair.

If you wanna make a joke, stick to something harmless like We Are Number One. Don't make harassment a joke.
