I never intended for my rant book to get out of hand. I only wanted to present the facts I was given at the time, and I still believe a lot (but not all) of the things I believed when I wrote it. People started linking to it and it got substantial attention and everything got out of hand on both ends. If you choose to agree or disagree with the book, that is fine by me. I may disagree with you but I'm sure you have a reason. I do ask for the fighting in the comments, the threats, and the mean comments to stop. You are not just hurting me, you're hurting others. If you'd like to say why you disagree, that is fine, but please don't hurt each other in the comments over my book.
I understand that I overreacted to some things. I've grown both in age and as a person, and understand people's concern now. I realize I was not unbiased in my presentation of these actions. I still find many of the things subjects of my YFIPs did reprehensible, and I don't plan to go back and edit them, because I want people to be able to read everything I wrote and form their own opinions. But I realize why people were concerned and understand why some people called certain claims into question.
I just plead that we can move on. Some of the actions I brought to light in my YFIPs are indefensible in my personal belief. But unless someone is actively threatening or advocating for something bigoted, harmful, or otherwise cruel, I don't want any negative action to be taken against them.
Disagreement does not always have to be to such a point that we harm others. I hope this message can at least keep things from getting worse than they are.
