The same headache from hell woke me and and when I came to Kei had a thick tree branch in his hands. He swung the branch towards Kou, who had woken up before I did.
Kei aimed at Kou's head. So that's his plan B. Concussion. Knock us unconscious and then dispose of us.
Well.
Knocking people unconscious is what I do best. While Kei is distracted with Kou I jump on his back and grab his head in a choke hold. I wrap my legs around his waist and arch my back in, making my hold tighter.
Kei breaks the stick over his knee and instead of stabbing me, he stabs himself in the neck.
"This guy," Kou's eyes are wide as we watch the black particles swarm over his body.
"Don't come out!" Kei shouts.
Kei's ghost appears and rams right into me. With out giving me time to adjust, the black ghost scratches my stomach with it's talon like hands and I fall to the ground. Blood rushes out of me like a river and with my hands I try to apply pressure to the wound. I remove one hand and reach for my back pack for the gun. I barely get a finger on it when Kei grabs is out of my hand.
"I'm not going to let you do that again," Kei said over me. I look over at Kou and see the black ghost grab him by the face and throw him against a tree. Kou's head hits the tree hard and he slumps to the ground.
My vision gets spotted with black and I feel as if I am going to die again.
"You won't die right away," Kei said, " you're just going to pass out first."
Before I can say anything, I feel my body go limp and my head hitting the ground.
Everything goes black.
I woke up to Kou screaming.
It was dark and small rays of sunshine found their way through holes in the metal like stitched we were in. The bas was a small square that did not give both Kou and I a lot of personal space. The walls were tall and made climbing out seem really difficult.
If I had to guess we were the end of a an 18 wheeler.
"Glad to see you're awake," Kou looked down at me.
I grunted and grabbed at my stomach but it had healed.
"You died a minute ago," Kou said. He then continued shouting for someone to let us out.
I sighed and leaned my head against the metal.
"Aren't you going to help?" Kou asked.
"Why? It's not like anyone is going to hear. Kei is too smart to put us near civilization," I said.
Kou narrowed his eyes at me and continued shouting.
I heard the top being opened and looked up to see Kei.
"Have you two revived yet?" He asked.
"F•ck off," I mumbled.
Needless to say, I was a sore loser. And Kei had won our match.
"Where are we?" Kou yelled. His hands were balled up in fists and his face was sketched in anger.
"You're inside an abandoned truck," Kei said.
I knew it.
"Baka! Let us out!" Kou shouted.
I sighed.
"You should be grateful. I could have crippled you for life. Be like your friend over there. Take her example," Kei said.
I looked up at him, "when I get out of here I am ripping you apart limb by limb."
Kei's face stayed neutral but I thought I saw a hint of a smile.
"I'll call the police if you don't let me out!" Kou yelled.
I sighed again. Why was I stuck in this situation with an idiot?
Kou then searched around, "are you sitting on it?"
I glared at him.
"I have it right here," Kei said. He held up the phone for us to see, "I have your gun, as well. But I left you your money and your snacks that are in you bag." Kei was looking at me when he said this.
I glared at him, too, but pulled my bag closer to me.
"Nagai... are you really not going to do anything?" Kou asked him, "Sato is going to kill lots of people."
"Then what are you doing here in Japan?" Kei replied.
"Huh?" Kou sounded surprised.
I let the two of them talk this out. I was still too upset to keep a solid conversation with another human being or what ever we were.
"No matter when or where, people die as a result of poverty or conflict. Why don't you try to help them?" Kei said, "that's right. What happens to some strangers somewhere in Japan is none of my business."
Interesting way of thinking of things. But doesn't he have family? What about his family? Don't they live in Japan? Wouldn't they get caught in the crossfire?
"Then why did you save that scientist?" Kou asked.
Kei looked shocked then looked away. He was silent before he answered, "I've been wondering about that myself. I've reached one conclusion. Whether they're of some use or not, he knows a lot about Ajin. Also working with the government gives him value. He was worth dying 1 or 2 times to save. Any more questions?"
Kou looked furious with the response.
I was...intrigued. Not many people thought that way. Actually, no one but him, thought that way.
"Baka! Let me out!" Kou shouted.
Kei looked at me, "I'm sorry you are stuck with him."
"Baka..." I mumbled with no target on who it was aimed for.
"There are two buckets there and a hole for you to drain it," Kei said.
I made a face and looked at Kou. I was highly regretting the decision to follow him.
"I will come back with things for you guys to do. A human's sanity only lasts about 72 hours in solitary confinement," Kei said.
Kei then closed the top. Kou reached out his head and yelled for him to stop. Darkness then enveloped us again.
"Sh•t!" Kou started kicking at the metal and loud rings filled my ears, "Sh•t!Sh•t!Sh•t!"
"Knock it off that's not going to help," I told him, "and you're hurting my ears."
"Sorry, princess, I want to get out of here," he glared at me. His breaths were heavy from a mixture of exercise and anger.
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms and legs. I looked up at the tall ceiling and back at Kou.
How would we get out?

I had some extra time and thought I would do another chapter.
Baka means idiot. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Stay in school. Don't do drugs. Peace and love.
With love,
