The New Ajin

Part 2- Chapter 1

A message from Sato.

"Today, I determined that we will begin the second wave. Humans have brashly and without shame escalated their oppression of Ajin. The theme of the second wave is 'cleansing'. Using information Tanaka overheard while he was being held, we've made a list of 15 representatives od the organizations conspiring against us. And if the government does not promptly agree to all my demands... we will assassinate these 15 individuals."

A message from the Chief Cabinet Secretary.

"What ever the case may be, using human lives as shields and making demands such as these is the height of depravity, and we are disgusted by this. Not only have we never experimented on Ajins as they claimed, besides, the government does not give in to terrorism. We will take what ever action is necessary to ensure the fastest possible resolution."

Eventually Nagai Kei had let Kou and I out of that truck. We ran for our lives trying to escape from the man with silver hair that had tried to take Kou and I earlier. 

Nagai and I were sitting in a small restaurant listening to the news. Two other men were in the room with us. 

The news woman on the television screen was talking about how the government was in action trying to protect the minister. Nagai was looking at his empty bowl of what used to be noodles. 

Nagai had told me earlier that all seventeen and eighteen year old Japanese boys looked the same and as long as we acted normal, no one should suspect him. He said that we could not draw attention to ourselves, as well, and had me dye my violet hair black. I had decided that when all of this blew over, I was going to dye my hair back to normal. 

"Eri! Nagai! Let's go!" Kou shouted as he walked into the small restaurant. 

Nagai glared at him. 

I shook my head. 

Of course.

"How stupid is this idiot," Nagai sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. 

"-If you come across any of these Ajin, please contact the police immediately," the lady on the t.v. said. 

Nagai's picture was on the screen. 

I grabbed Kou's hand and pulled him after me as Nagai rushed out of the building. 

Kou had owned a small red car that we were now using to drive us all around. I was sitting in the passenger seat and Nagai sat in the back. 

"I'm glad we're on the road and all, but what's the plan?" Kou asked.

I looked in the rear view mirror at Nagai, he looked bored as he looked out the window.

He continued looking out the window.

I was good at fighting, I was good at planning out a fight, but my brain had nothing on the one in Nagai's head. I stayed quiet and waited for Nagai to talk.

"Actually... I'm getting sick of this," Nagai eventually said.

"Huh?" Kou said and looked behind him for a split second..

That was something I really liked about Kou. I did not have to talk, he would do it for me. 

"I wish I could have stayed with the old lady," Nagai sighed, "You two can just go ahead and decide everything now."

I turned around and raised an eyebrow, I then glanced at Kou. 

"Thanks, babe," Kou chuckled. 

"You're smart enough," Nagai said to me. 

"I'm not nearly as smart as you," I said.

"I can have some good ideas! Let's go find Sato!" Kou said. Kou then pressed down on the gas and the car quickly accelerated. Nagai hit his head on the car window due to the sudden force. 

"Baka!" Nagai glared at Kou. He then sighed, "Listen  to me, there is no way we can beat him now. Besides, even if we did know where he was, what could a few kids like us do? How would we actually stop him? Put him in a cage? Then what?"

Kou stared angrily at the road in front of him, "So there isn't anything we can do?"

"Not a whole lot," Nagai said, "the way I see it, we only have two advantages. The first is, I am smarter than your average adult."

"Yeah," Kou and I said at the same time. Kou then smiled at me and reached for my hand. We intertwined our fingers and he steered with one hand.

Nagai made a face but continued talking, "We don't have tranquilizer guns or a place to imprison Ajins, but we can improvise. Remember when I told you that there are other ways to neutralize people forever?"

"You did?" Kou asked. 

"He did," I said. 

"When a person enters a place with out oxygen, they immediately lose consciousness. For an Ajin, it is an endless loop," Nagai took a sip from his can of soda, "our second advantage, we already have the most important skill there is for fighting. If you could have a battle advantage, which of these would you choose? One physical strength. Two, a strategic mind. Three, immortality."

"Physical strength!" Kou shouted. 

"That's right. Everyone would choose immortality," Nagai said.

"No. Wait. What. I choose-" Kou started saying but Nagai continued talking.

 I chuckled to myself. 

"If we use these, we should be able to fight back. I have my mind, Eri has both the brain and strength for fighting and Kou, well, Kou has his...positive attitude," Nagai said, "But Sato has us beat in terms of numbers, supplies and experience. You want to fight him with just the three of us?"

Kou was left speechless. A first.

Nagai chuckled and said, "so, what is it we should be doing now?"

"Uh, working out?" Kou slowly said.

"No. Finding allies," Nagai said.

Hello guys! So this is the second season, so the second part of the book. If you have not seen the second season yet, you should probably stop reading (or binge watch it tonight) because this second part will have spoilers. 

Update on my own life, I have officially (kinda) signed with Our Lady of the Lake University to play soccer. I say kinda because I have not actually signed anything but once the papers come, I will. The University is in San Antonio. It is a small catholic private school but it is co-ed so...yeah. Okay and I know I have only talked about me being in wrestling but I used to play soccer.

Lastly, what do you think of the story so far? I have not edited chapters (I think) 4+. Did that confuse you guys? Going from past to present to past again? I want to edit the chapters but at the same time I wanted to add to the story. My school blocked this website so I cannot edit during school anymore but I am trying to make time for this story.
