Chapter 5: Home

14/20 Hp, 27g.

You walk into a room with a dead looking tree, surrounded by fallen leaves. You hear Toriels voice; "Oh dear, that took longer than I thought it would..." She attempts to ring you, but sees you standing there. "How did you get here, my child? Are you hurt?" "A bit..." "There there, I will heal you"

20/20 Hp

"I should not have left you alone for so long... It was irresponsible to try and surprise you like this. Err... I suppose I cannot hide it any longer. Come, small one!" You follow her into a cute, neat looking house. The smell of butterscotch and cinnamon fill your nose. "Do you smell that? Surprise! It is a Butterscotch cinnamon pie. I thought I might celebrate your arrival. I want you to have a nice time living here, so I decided to hold off on snail pie for tonight. Here, I have another surprise for you" She leads you towards a door. "Here it is... A room of your own. I hope you like it!" She pats your head gently, knocking off your hoodie. "Oh my..." she says. "I'm... sorry, I should have told you sooner... I'm half human, half cat monster..." "No matter, my child. I will still take care of you, why wouldn't I?" "Thank you" you hug her. "Is something burning? Um, make yourself at home!" She runs off to the kitchen. You walk into the room she called 'Yours'. You turn off the light, lie down on the bed and take a nap.

*Timeskip*

You wake up and see that Toriel has left a slice of pie next to your bed. You pick it up, sit on the bed and start eating it. Toriel walks in. "Ah, my child, you are awake." You nod and say "This is some good pie!" "Thank you. I will be in the sitting room if you need anything." she walks out.    You finish the pie and decide to put the plate away. You walk out and place the plate in the kitchen.

You walk back and say hello to Toriel. "Well hello there! Um, I want you to know how happy I am to have someone living here. There are so many old books I want to share... I want to show you my favorite bug-hunting spot. I have also prepared a curriculum for your education. This may come as a surprise to you... But I have always wanted to be a teacher. Actually, perhaps that isn't very surprising... STILL. I am glad to have you living here." She smiles.

"Oh, did you want something?" Part of you wanted to leave here... So you could get back to the surface... But right here, right where you were, was someone who cared for you with all their heart. There weren't many people who love you like that. You shake your head "I just wanted to say Hi." "Oh, Okay then! Would you like to hear about this book I am reading? It is called; '72 Uses for snails'. How about it?" You nod "Here is an exciting snail fact. Did you know that the fastest snail... Is the speckled garden snail, which can move up to around 50 meters an hour? Interesting." "Yeah. That was a cool snail fact" "Well, bother me if you need anything else"

You smile to yourself and go to lie on your bed. 'I guess... This is my home now.'
