Chapter 8: Puzzles Pt 2

You walk into the next room and see two tables, one with a microwave and one with a plate of spaghetti. You then see a note on the ground and go over to read it. It says: 'HUMAN!! PLEASE ENJOY THIS SPAGHETTI. (LITTLE DO YOU KNOW, THIS SPAGHETTI IS A TRAP... DESIGNED TO ENTICE YOU!!! YOU'LL BE SO BUSY EATING IT... THAT YOU WONT REALISE YOU AREN'T PROGRESSING!! THOROUGHLY JAPED AGAIN BY THE GREAT PAPYRUS!!!) YOURS NYEH-FULLY, PAPYRUS' .

You go over to the microwave. It was unplugged and all of the settings said 'Spaghetti'. You went over to the spaghetti. You tried to pick it up, but the plate and fork were stuck to the table. You sniffed the spaghetti. It didn't really smell like anything, it was mostly tomato, from the sauce. 'There's no harm in trying it...' You realise the fork is stuck to the table, and just stick your face in it and start eating. It tastes bad but somehow really good at the same time. You keep eating. (You have been japed by the great Papyrus (y/n)!)

You walk into a room with a puzzle where you have to stand on Xs and make them Os. You solve it quickly. You see Papyrus. "AHA! THE HUMAN IS FINALLY HERE! DID YOU GET TRAPPED? AND, MORE IMPORTANTLY... IS THERE ANY LEFT FOR ME???" "Oh, no sorry. It was really good though!" You realised there was still spaghetti sauce on your face and wipe it off. "WOWIE... YOU REALLLY LIKE MY SPAGHETTI?!? I MEAN... OF COURSE YOU DO! IT WAS MADE BY MASTER CHEF PAPYRUS!! WORRY NOT, HUMAN. I SHALL MAKE YOU ALL THE PASTA YOU COULD EVER WANT! HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH NYEH!" He runs off.

(Insert papyrus face puzzle here due to Author-Chan laziness)

You walk through and see a square of coloured tiles. "HEY! ITS THE HUMAN! YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS PUZZLE! IT WAS MADE BY THE GREAT DOCTOR ALPHYS! YOU SEE THESE TILES!? ONCE I THROW THIS SWITCH... THEY WILL BEGIN TO CHANGE COLOUR! EACH COLOUR HAS A DIFFERENT FUNCTION! RED TILES ARE IMPASSIBLE! YOU CANNOT WALK ON THEM! YELLOW TILES ARE ELECTRIC! THEY WILL ELECTROCUTE YOU! GREEN TILES ARE ALARM TILES! IF YOU STEP ON THEM... YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT A MONSTER!! ORANGE-TILES ARE ORANGE-SCENTED. THEY WILL MAKE YOU SMELL DELICIOUS! BLUE TILES ARE WATER TILES. SWIM THROUGH THEM IF YOU LIKE, BUT... IF YOU SMELL LIKE ORANGES! THE PIRANHAS WILL BITE YOU. ALSO, IF A BLUE TILE IS NEXT TO A, YELLOW TILE, THE WATER WILL ALSO ZAP YOU! PURPLE TILES ARE SLIPPERY! YOU WILL SLIDE TO THE NEXT TILE! HOWEVER, THE SLIPPERY SOAP... SMELLS LIKE LEMONS!! WHICH PIRANHAS DO NOT LIKE! PURPLE AND BLUE ARE OKAY! FINALLY, PINK TILES. THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING. STEP ON THEM ALL YOU LIKE. HOW WAS THAT!? UNDERSTAND???" "Of course" You say, only partly understanding. "GREAT!! THEN THERES ONE LAST THING! THIS PUZZLE... IS COMPLETELY RANDOM!!!!!! WHEN I FLIP THIS SWITCH, IT WILL MAKE A PUZZLE... THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE! NOT EVEN I WILL KNOW THE SOLUTION! NYEH HEH HEH! GET READY..!

The tile floor switches through a bunch of colour patterns, finally landing on... A line of pink tiles, with red tiles on the side. You sigh. Papyrus twirls off. You just walk through the puzzle. You say hi to sans. "actually, that spaghetti from earlier... it wasn't too bad for my brother. since he started cooking lessons, he's been improving a lot." "Well that's great. I don't really think he needs to improve though. Its already delicious!" "wait... you like his spaghetti?" "...Yes?" ". . . huh. i didn't even think it was edible." "You really need to consider talking about Papyrus better even when he's not around. That's what a good brother does." His pupils disappear from his eye sockets. "..." You walk off to get to the next puzzle.

You see another one of the "Turn the X's to O's" puzzles on a platform. You go to step on the X's, and slide straight off the platform. You fall flat on your face into some soft snow. 'I guess cats don't always land on their feet...' You get up and see two statues. Well, one of them wasn't really a statue. There was a snow-Papyrus, with red marker colouring in his scarf/cape. And then there was a lump of snow on the ground with the word 'sans' written on it in the same red marker. It was easy to tell who made which one. There was a ramp back up to the puzzle, so you walked up it. You slide very carefully from tile to tile, turning all the X's to O's. A bridge comes up letting you continue on your path.

You see a bunch of piles of snow, and decide to go check them. You walk from snow poff to snow poff, gently checking each one. Then, something shiny catches your eye while you're checking one. You dig out 30 G from the snow! You go over to a snow poff that's blocking your path. A dog sticks its head out from the snow. It barks and then... What. the. hell. The dog is actually in a giant suit of armor. 'Shiiiii- !' You spot a stick on the ground. You shuffle over and grab it. Mildly terrified, you wave the stick around and say "Here doggie doggie... Fetch!" You throw the stick as hard as you can. A tiny dog jumps out of the suit of armor and runs after the stick. 'How does that even work?' You squeeze past the armour and continue on.

You see what looks like a long rope bridge. Papyrus and Sans are standing at the other side. You start walking across the bridge, and it is surprisingly steady. You get to almost the end of the bridge, when Papyrus starts talking to you. "HUMAN! THIS IS YOUR FINAL AND MOST DANGEROUS CHALLENGE! BEHOLD! THE GAUNTLET OF DEADLY TERROR!" A bunch of dangerous looking things come down, like spikes, cannons and flamethrowers. And... A dog? "WHEN I SAY THE WORD, IT WILL FULLY ACTIVATE!!! CANNONS WILL FIRE! SPIKES WILL SWING! BLADES WILL SLICE! EACH PART WILL SWING VIOLENTLY UP AND DOWN! ONLY THE TINIEST CHANCE OF VICTORY WILL REMAIN!!! ARE YOU READY!? BECAUSE! I! AM! ABOUT! TO DO IT!" There was a tiny bit of guilt and sadness in Papyrus's eyes- or eye sockets really- and nothing happened. "well? what's the holdup?" "HOLDUP!? WHAT HOLDUP!? I'M... I'M ABOUT TO ACTIVATE IT NOW!" Nothing happens. "that, uh, doesn't look very activated" "WELL!!! THIS CHALLENGE!!! IT SEEMS... MAYBE... TOO EASY TO DEFEAT THE HUMAN WITH. YEAH! WE CAN'T USE THIS ONE!!! I AM A SKELETON WITH STANDARDS!!! MY PUZZLES ARE VERY FAIR! AND MY TRAPS ARE EXPERTLY COOKED! BUT THIS METHOD IS TOO DIRECT! NO CLASS AT ALL! AWAY IT GOES!" The traps pull back and disappear. He turns away. "PHEW!" He turns around to look at you again. "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!? THIS WAS ANOTHER DECISIVE VICTORY FOR PAPYRUS!! NYEH!! HEH!!... HEH???" He runs off. You knew what actually happened. He liked you too much to see you get hurt. He was so nice.

You reach a small town. There's a sign saying 'Snowdin', so that's most likely the name of the town. You walk past some shops, a bar and a 'Librarby' as the sign said. You walked past what you guessed was Sans' and Papyrus's house. You keep walking and reach some fog. As you keep walking, the fog gets thicker until you can barely see anything. You then see the outline of Papyrus.

(Insert 'Papyrus is projecting' speech here)

"THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE ROYAL GUARD!!!"

*A Battle Initiates with Papyrus*

(Time for the laziest of lazy waffles. I'm sorri if chu are upset by my laziness, but this is a book about blooky-kun and i just really want to get to waterfall already)

You easily dodge Papyrus's attacks.

You pretend to fight him, purposefully missing.

A wave of blue bones comes at you. you stay perfectly still.

After a few seconds, your Soul turns from (F/c or S/c) to blue (If its already blue then make it dark blue or a different shade of blue.) and it becomes heavier.

It becomes a lot harder to dodge the attacks, but you still manage.

But then you notice a bone heading straight for your face. You don't react fast enough and everything goes dark.

(A/N; Don't worry, just like in the real game, your not dead. You just blacked out due to a high velocity bone to the face xD
Waterfall is only a chapter away, so we will see Napstablook again soon.
