Chapter 3

Scarlett's POV

"Five years ago," Mr. Anyle started, "five years ago, Raven was just my student, just a normal girl. I was a math teacher at that time. I taught 15 students. Year after year, a small amount of my students moved classes, more students moving every year. That leaves Raven. She couldn't get to the higher class, so she stayed with me.

Even when there were other students, she would always throw a fit or have fights from time to time, we never really understood why. Until one day, she got very frustrated out of nowhere, so she just punch some random boy in the face multiple times. Every other student backed away. I was still outside getting some water. When I went back to the classroom, I saw Raven pinning the boy down to the floor, her eyes were white, yet filled with hatred.

I never understood why she did that to the boy, she loved him. Or that's what I heard from my other students. She had a massive crush on the boy and would die for him. I was still too scared to do anything so I just stood still, I was an idiot. She pulled a pocket knife out of her bag and slowly made a cut on the boy's arm. He was unconscious at that time. I didn't know how she did that, she just did. She pulled the knife back and looked at him in the eye, 'I'm sorry, I love you.'"

I was shocked, everyone else was too. "I'm not done. Raven then in a millisecond, she stabbed the poor boy in the stomach. Everyone tries to stop her, but she didn't move her body, only her arm was moving at a fast pace. I called the ambulance, everyone else pulled her back. Eventually, Raven stood up and left, dropping her pocket knife."

"Oh. My. God," I heard Jennie say, "what happened to the boy?"

"The boy. His name is Connor. He was a very nice boy. He went to a hospital specialized for emergencies. Not any emergencies, emergencies that has involved with the crazy. The doctors there didn't operate on him. We don't know what they did, but they healed the boy in an instant. He's okay now, but he refuses to go back to school," Mr. Anyle says, tears forming in his eyes.

"What happened to Raven after the incident?" I asked, completely curious. I just need to know beforehand. Before, you know. Anything bad happens to me.

"Raven. After the incident, she went back to normal. That's what I thought. Once in a while, she'd do something crazy. I called the authorities and they took her away to a mental hospital. She stayed there for about 3 years. That's all the time it took for us to build a maximum security prison for her. We kept her isolated from the rest of the world, to prevent any more incidents. She'd still be insane, that's why the guards and staff would quit. I feel like nowadays, my life is dedicated to protecting Raven, since I didn't do anything to help on the day she became insane. We would still visit Connor. He didn't stay at the hospital. Connor and his friends escaped, to I don't know where. They didn't return to school, so I don't know what happened to him after that," explained Mr. Anyle. The worry on his face, it seemed so, sincere. As if he really cares for a girl, a crazy girl.

"I need some time," I say. I stood up from the ground. I walk near the table and flop down, leaning on one of the legs.

"Hey, you okay?" I heard Khloe's voice from behind me.

"Well, ever since I heard the story, I can't help but think, why would she try to kill someone she loves? That makes no sense," I say, "the only thing running through my mind is a question, and a theory."
"What do you think about it?" asked Jennie.

"Maybe, just maybe, Raven wanted to killed Connor, to protect him."
"What? That makes no sense," said Jennie.

"Why would she try to kill a boy who she's absolutely in love with? It just doesn't add up," says Khloe.
