Every year, its always like this. A band battles for life or death. Our city never has a chance. We always seam to loose. I've lost so many friends to this, hints be being in a band as well, but now, its up to me. My band was chosen this year for the annual battle of The Music Games. I've been working for this my whole life, but I wasn't ready to die for it.

"You ready for practice?" My friend, and rhythm guitar player for my band, Lizzy, asked.

I nodded my head sadly and grabbed my drum sticks.

My band was an all girls band called, Red Death. I was the drummer and leader. Lizzy was our rhythm guitar player and back up singer. Brandy was the lead guitar player and screamer. Courtney was our bassist, and Cynthia was our lead singer. Our hole band was nerves, but Lizzy and I wasn't as nerves as everyone else. You see, Brandy and I grew up together, alone. We fended for each other. We never had anyone else, until the rest of the band came along when we got assigned together. As for the rest, they had someone. Courtney had Austin Carlile, he was already in band, Of Mice & Men, before everything happened, so he became safe, and some how met Courtney. Cynthia had DJ Black. He was in an underground colt band, that wasn't signed up because they always ran from the dictator's minions, they never keep a name for long, so that don't get caught. As for Lizzy, she had her brother, Chris Fronz, who was head of the Rock Mafia as the leader known as The Fronz. He had her marry into the mafia to Sean Heenan. He was the drummer for The Fronz back in the day for one of the worlds biggest bands, Attlia, who is now retired.

The siren started to go off. My heart beat faster then normal. I hated this. It was our curfew alarm. When it sounded, that ment only 5 minutes till we had to be in doors. It was going on twelve too. Daily check ups to make sure every one was where they should.

Lizzy and I just looked at each other and ran for the practice center just over the hill. Once we were inside, Courtney and Brandy were already there.

"Its about time. That alarm scared you didn't it?" Brandy laughed once she saw us.

I rolled my eyes and laughed, and joined her on setting things up.

The siren was shortly coming to an end and Cynthia was no where to be found. Courtney started to freak out. The front doors to the practice center was started to shut. I glanced at Brandy and she had a mean look on her face. Then just before the doors were shut, Cynthia slip in as the closed.

"Where the fuck were you!?" Brandy screamed as she jerked Cynthia by her shirt and shoved her to the wall.

"I was seeing DJ while I could!" Cynthia yelled back at her.

I just watched. They were always like this. Brandy never trusted no one, no one but me. She slowly got along with the other girls, but her and Cynthia didn't see eye to eye. Cynthia always but us on the edge when it came to danger. If she got caught out, we'd all be in trouble. She timed it close a lot. Brandy didn't like it. Courtney couldn't handle them constantly fighting, so she ran off to the bathroom. Lizzy and I just finished putting things together.

"Don't do it again. Im not ready to die for your actions." Brandy said letting her go.

Cynthia dusted herself off and opened her back pack, that had all the lyrics to the cover songs we did. Covers were all we could do.

"Sean and Chris said we gotta do an Attila song." Lizzy pointed out.

"Why?" I asked.

"He said its a message to the dictator." Lizzy said sounding confused.

I nodded my head and Brandy looked up the music.

I didn't need to look at music. I just had to hear it first. I pulled out my ipod, and started going threw the Attila songs I had. Each member in a band was allowed an Ipod for study use only and I jumped at the chance. No one else cared, but Cynthia. Why, I have no clue. She cheated by using lyric sheets that DJ would fix for her.

"What are we gunna play?" Brandy asked.

"Lets do outlaw!" Cynthia suggested.

I glared at her, "That's dumb. Its an easy song and its borning. Its for beginners."

Cynthia crossed her arms and got pissed off.

"How about rage?" Lizzy suggested.

I thought about it for a minute, "Noo. That ones old. How about one from the last album they released before retiring?"

"I got it!" Brandy yelled, "About That Life? The song, of course its off that album."

I laughed and nodded my head, "Alright, now we need an encore to blow everyone away."

"A female band!" Cynthia yelled.

"Of course. Why not a song from In This Moment? Maria has a strong powerful voice.

"I cant match hers!" Cynthia said rolling her eyes.

"That why you practice. I got a song." I said after I found the song from my ipod.

"What is it?" Brandy asked.

"Burn." I smiled.

"Ooo! I haven't herd that one." Lizzy said excited.

"Its good and it will blow them away." I said sounding even more excited then Lizzy. "I have an idea for our design team to work on as well."

"Any other songs you'd like to pick?" Cynthia said smart.

I grawled at her, "You pick them smartass."

Cynthia nodded her head proudly and went threw her lyric sheets.

All of us laughed.
