Erik hated working nightshifts on his job at the convenience store because he always gets home late and Belle strongly disapproved of it. He works as the supply stocker and the occasional janitor.
It was the only job decent job he could have at the time and he didn't have a choice, because when he and Belle moved in together in an apartment, they needed to pay the rent.
It wasn't so bad though, he didn't quit his job because the store was small and there wasn't really much to clean up anyway.
He usually just sits there and try not to fall asleep incase a costumer comes. "It's not like anybody would come here this late" is what's mostly inside his mind every evening.
When Erik got enough money to pay the rent and buy necessities, Belle wanted to stop being a burden to him and set out to look for a job.
While she was strolling in town buying groceries, she noticed a sign saying 'HELP WANTED' on the local bakery so she went to get a job as a baker.
Considering that she had a talent for baking, getting the job wasn't much of a problem. Belle uses Erik as her 'guinea pig' by using her recipe experiments on him.
She really loves her job because her boss would give her a raise everytime she makes a new recipe.
