Yoongi remembers the first time his heart leaped out of his chest and into his throat out of pure excitement, fear, nervousness, and love.
Those four emotions were common when he thought about Jimin. But when the younger boy had asked him to help him with a very important performance, Yoongi felt them all for the very first time.
It was a lazy day for Yoongi. He didn't have school and he didn't feel like playing at the moment so he was in bed scrolling through his phone.
All of the sudden Jimin had burst through his door looking very excited, and to Yoongi, very dangerous. In a rush, if words he asked, "Yoongi, will you please perform with me?"
Yoongi had looked at him with an unbelieving look, "Jimin, did you hear yourself? Me? Perform with you? I'm pretty sure you should go to Hoseok because I can't dance for shit."
Jimin laughed (Yoongi's heart fucking stopped), "Hyung, do you think I don't know that? I don't want you to dance with me, I want you to play the piano while I dance. It's for a competition. If you have, like, live music there it increases your chances of winning."
Yoongi snorted, "So you're just using me to win?"
Jimin shook his head vigorously, "Of course not Hyung, you're like the best musician I know- well, the only musician I'm comfortable with and that is also good."
"First of all, of course, I'm the best musician you know, I'm the best piano player here and I've won multiple awards. Second of all, what about Jungkook, doesn't he play the cello or something like that? And third of all, what do I get out of this?" The last question was for Yoongi to not seem so eager about this. He was going to do it regardless of what he got out of it because, in the end, he would be spending time with Jimin- and wow he really went soft for the kid. Where was the old Yoongi that only cared for piano?
Jimin snorted, "I swear to god, there is one other thing you're best at and it's being a cocky son of a bitch." Yoongi shrugged, "But Jungkook plays the guitar, nothing like the cello, and he's not nearly as good as you are at piano yet. And as for what you'll get out if it? Well, there's a little prize money so maybe some of that. I don't know, what do you want?"
Yoongi smirked, he was going to make Jimin get flustered and he knew it. He sighs dramatically, "Well if you can't pay me with money, I guess you'll just have to pay me with your body."
The reaction he got out of Jimin was everything he was expecting.
His eyes got wide and his cheeks went red. He stuttered a bit when he said, "H-h-Hyung! That's th-"
"And by that I mean you'll have to run a few errands for me."
Jimin visibly relaxed, "Jesus Christ, I'll do whatever you want just help me out."
Yoongi laughed, "I'll help Jimin, what song do you have in mind? Also, when is it?"
Jimin threw his arms around Yoongi's neck and squeezed him tight, "Thank you thank you thank you! This means so much you have no idea."
Yoongi smiled to himself and hugged the boy back, "It's ok Jimin. I know you would do the same for me."
It's true, Yoongi 100 percent trusted that Jimin would do the same. It was weird, Yoongi never expected things like that out of people. He never even expected much out of Namjoon, Jin, and Hoseok, people he's known for years. He knew that if you expected too much you would be let down very easily, but with Jimin, he felt like it was ok to expect things from him. He felt like it was ok to let his guard down and trust the boy.
Jimin pulled away and had a huge smile on his face, "It's May the eleventh, four months from now. The song I had in mind was a song called Pin-up girl. I found it on YouTube. I'll send you the link if you need it."
